Yes! We got finalists for the 4th round : dancing and singing test! It means they found some gems. This next round shouldn't take long, if we compare the time it took in the previous audition.

I was hoping for a surprise announcement during the first MM Spring concert. At least an announcement of an announcement. Like a, hey tune in next week on our Youtube channel for a special Morning Musume announcement!

I feel like it's taking them a little longer than usual.

I know they've hinted at something coming up, so I expect this week or next they will announce something. Good or Bad. The wait is killing me.

Sorry for bumping the thread for those who are waiting on pins and needles like me.

I feel like this is one of those Auditions that's going to help shape the future of the group. It can't just be 1 girl. I honestly expect like, 3 or 4. Something to cushion the blow of the next few graduations that will inevitably take place. Or maybe UF wants smaller generations now to help fill the kenshuusei pool? I do a lot of speculating when it comes to auditions and why they do them so soon after another audition. What exactly are they looking for? What do they hope to achieve if they find girls that they didn't find in a previous audition?

The final round (the final reveal announcement by the Upfront President), the successful applicants at this point usually wear a white dress and have a surprise announcement waiting for them (see the audition video where Sakurai Rio was announced as the winner)

They definitely found a winner, now its just a matter of time of WHEN they will announce the winner.

I wouldn't want to wait a month, but unveiling them at the Nakano Sun Plaza Goodbye concert would be ideal (after they announce it on Hello Station)

1st Round : Applications Review
2nd Round : Online Screening
3rd Round : Performance and Interview judging
4th Round : This round of judging consisted of being in a photoshoot, then a test in singing, and dancing. For the dance judging, the middle part consists of a performing a required dance, and the rest is their free dance, in which they rea required to perform choreographies that they came up with individually. The music is an original mix. For the singing part, they must sing a required song given to them.
5th Round : The finalists wear a white dress. The final round of judging includes singing another required song given (Different song from the 4th round) and a Q&A session in front of higher ups (with the Upfront president). The judges decide if they pass or not.

The Hello Pro Kenshuusei Unit '23 will make its debut in 2024 as a new group of Hello! Project,
We will continue to prepare for their debut while solidifying the formation of the group.

In the second half of this year, we plan to hold an audition for new members to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Hello! Project.

YES! Amazing news! For a while, and especially after the Shindan Test, I was worried they'd add Gotou Hana to MM, and I was only worried because she has such a big personality, I feel like it might be diluted or put on the back burner in MM. Can't wait to see all this new footage! Also congratulations to the new group! Their hard work has paid off!

I thought there was no way I could pass the audition because I had never learned how to dance or sing, so when Fukumura-san told me I had been accepted and that I would be joining Morning Musume, I still couldn't believe it, but when I met the other senior members and took pictures with them, I finally felt it. I was still in disbelief when I heard that I was going to join. I have no experience in dancing or singing, so all I can do is feel anxious, but more than anxious, I am happy that my dream has come true and I have many things I want to do in the future!

It has been about a week since I passed the audition and met the senior members, and I still haven't quite recovered from the excitement I felt after passing the audition. I am so happy to be a member of Morning Musume that every time I listen to one of their songs, which I love so much, all I can think about is "one day I will be able to perform it to a lot of people. I know there will be a lot of hardships in the future, but I believe that my success after joining Morning Musume depends entirely on my efforts, so I will do whatever it takes to get through even the most difficult things.

I will do my best without forgetting to "enjoy myself!"

Alright, something has got to be going on. How do they keep finding girls with some of the rarest sounding names? What is going on? Are H!P auditions a magnet for girls with the rarest names to apply and get in? Yofuu, Shimoitani, etc., the list keeps growing.

Jokes aside, congrats to all the girls for joining their groups. I was hoping they would put Kamimura somewhere too, but the Kenshuusei Unit is not bad. And with these additions, UFP might be serious about making them debut next year too.

PS:
I just looked up Yumigeta on Japanese surname rankings list, and there are apparently only about 350 people in Japan with that surname, which honestly is more than I would have guessed. Also, they are mainly concentrated in Shizuoka, which is where the new girl is from too.
