Zuk-- I mean "TamagoEgg" prepares "a warm winter dinner with lots of ginger" and has an existential crisis…
This is my first post of 2023!
Happy New Year!
At the beginning of each year, I write down all my goals, from small to big, in a notebook, but I realized that I had not achieved my goal for 2022, which was to "eat squid rice".
What does "eat squid rice" mean? Please listen to me for a moment.
If you are reading this now, let me ask you this.
When was the last time you ate squid rice?
It is not often on the dinner table, but you must have had it once or twice in your life.
This is one of the reasons I set a goal to eat squid rice.
A few summers ago, I had a terrifying experience where I almost collided with a car that was driving by.
Oh, there was a day when I suddenly thought that somewhere in such a normal, uneventful day, life might suddenly end.
It would happen so easily, without warning, of course. If that were to happen, the squid rice that I had been planning to eat someday would suddenly end without me being able to eat it.
I don't eat things that I can eat anytime if I want to.
From the day you decide to eat squid rice, you may think, "Shall I make it at home or eat out?", "What kind of ingredients should I buy?", "It takes a long time, but when will it be ready?". It is a continuous process of planning and choosing.
If you think you can eat squid rice anytime and put it off, the day will never come.
That is why we set a goal to "eat squid rice".
We can finally achieve this goal by working backward from the end of the act, carefully examining and carrying out each step, one by one.
What you think is easy to achieve cannot be achieved.
After all, we think we can do it anytime we want.
We don't realize that there is a process.
If I didn't eat squid rice here, my life would have gone on without accomplishing anything, and one day, when I finish my life, I would have said, "Oh, I didn't eat squid rice after all. I wanted to do that job, but I couldn't. I wanted to build my own home, but I didn't. It wasn't supposed to be like this."
People who can't even complete such a small plan are living vaguely and lamenting about their unfulfilled lives, saying, "I should be able to do more, and it's the people around me who are to blame."
I have to eat squid rice.
I have to eat squid rice so that I can be satisfied with the end of my life.
In 2022, I neglected to eat squid rice.
If I am hit by a car tomorrow, I will go to sleep disappointed with myself for having neglected to eat squid rice.
In order to avoid such a situation, I must complete eating squid rice.
I will continue to have "eat squid rice" as a goal in 2023. And I will add a new one, "eat chimaki in Chinatown," to improve the quality of my series of small goals.
To the future me on December 31, 2023, before you go to sleep, eat squid rice.
How was that?
I couldn't stop writing and exceeded 1000 words. What's 1000 words for squid rice?
If you want to try it, please set a small goal and do it!
I'm going to set and achieve a lot of goals this year!
In 2023, I would like to increase the pace of YouTube updates compared to 2022, so please keep an eye on me!
Thank you very much for your support this year!
