The Legendary Jason David Frank, the Green Ranger from Power Rangers passed away, one of my favorites as a kid in the 90's.

Netflix posted some still images from season 2 of Alice in Borderland, which will be available on December 22nd:

I just rewatched the 1st season last week so now I'm prepared. :lol: I also recently watched First Love, which is on Netflix too. It stars Satoh Takeru and Mitsushima Hikari ( :love: ). I mainly watched for Hikari, but it was actually pretty decent imo.

…and Season 1 was so well received that Season 3 has been greenlit as well.

Seriously, the first season was damned good. I still recommend it, with the caveat that the first episode is a bit rough but worth pushing through.

OFFICIAL RED BAND TRAILER!

Can't embed because, well, red band. Must click through.

Nevertheless, it. Is. Glorious.

A few notes, for those who know…

Spoiler: show
It looks like they are not trying to cram the entire Chroma Conclave story arc into a single season, which is good.

The main story beats I can see, without doing a frame-by-frame analysis, are:

- Surviving the Conclave's attack on Emon;

- Escaping from Emon back to Whitestone;

- Going to Pyrah to learn about Thordak (and to continue Keyleth's Aramenté);

- Going to Vasselheim to seek aid;

- Meeting the Slayer's Take, particularly Zahra and Kashaw (at 1:15);

- Learning about the Vestiges of Divergence;

- Going to the sunken tomb to get Deathwalker's Ward; and then

- Going to Westruun for everything that happens there, and thus will probably be the third act of the season.

As far as I can tell, Umbrasyl will be the climactic battle of this season, and Grog will be the focus character like Percy was for Season 1. It's not clear if they get any Vestiges other than Deathwalker's Ward and Titanstone Knuckles.

They also meet Kaylie and Dr. Dranzel (at 1:07), but not sure where or when since events have been reordered a bit. Maybe during the celebration in Westruun after they slay Umbrasyl? That particular revelation would make for an interesting cliffhanger and suggests Scanlan might be the focus character for Season 3. Which would be perfect, considering how the Chroma Conclave story arc ends.

The Legend of Vox Machina, Season 2

"19 misses?"

Yes, it's really based on their live game, including easter eggs based on specific table chat and dice rolls.

As an adaptation, it's… unprecedented? It wasn't a comprehensive work by a single author. It was pure group chaos only somewhat shepherded by the dungeonmaster. And it's still amazing how faithful this adaptation is to both the letter and the spirit of the original.

ZAHRA AND KASHAW!

Sounds familiar? That's the voice of Mary Elizabeth McGlynn, who is best known for playing Motoko Kusanagi (a.k.a. "The Major") in the English dub of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. She's a friend of / recurring guest on Critical Role, and she's also the voice director for this series.

And although he can't be heard in this brief clip, Kashaw is played by Will Friedle (Boy Meets World, Batman Beyond, Kim Possible, Guardians of the Galaxy). He's another friend of / recurring guest on Critical Role, and his experience with them affected him so much that he got really into painting miniatures. It seems incredible, or incredibly silly, but… yeah, he did.

The Legend of Vox Machina Season 2 premieres tomorrow, January 20, on Amazon Prime Video.

^ I just watched the first episode.

It starts with a bang…

And a sizzle… and a hiss… and a crack…

:fear:

If I wasn't already very much looking forward to S2, that's all you'd have to tell me to have me curious.

Also thank you for the reminder for S2! Things have been so busy I've failed even more at keeping up with shows/movies than I have H!P.

^ Then I'll post this for you. It's pretty much context- and spoiler-free; it was just a fun moment of improv in the middle of a bigger scene…

That's Mary Elizabeth McGlynn sitting next to him at the table. Zahra and Kashaw, they come as a pair.

And remember how I said he got into painting miniatures…?
