New Hello Pro group OCHA NORMA cries tears of joy at their major label debut, reaching #2 on the first day of the Oricon daily single!
Hello! Project's 10-member idol group OCHA NORMA made their major debut with their double A-side single "Koi no Crouching Start / Omatsuri Debut da ze!", held a mini-live and send-off event at Spotify O-EAST in Tokyo to commemorate the release.
OCHA NORMA started out as a unit consisting of four selected Hello Pro Kenshuusei, Yonemura Kirara, Ishiguri Kanami, Kubota Nanami, and Saito Madoka, who were start activities July 2019. The members and fans celebrated together on the day of their major label debut, which took three years to achieve.
The event started with the song " Omatsuri Debut da ze!" a perfect song for a festival marking the debut of the band's major debut. The song is a Japanese-style song sung over a "festival beat" created by Tsugaru shamisen, shinobue flute, and other Japanese instruments. It is a number that brings back the "spirit of Japan," which Japanese people should not forget, to the "Ocha-noma" (tea-ceremony parlor). The fans responded with penlight to the members' powerful call of "Sei" during the prelude, and from the beginning of the first song, the excitement in the venue blossomed like a fireworks display.
The group then performed the song "Ramen Daisuki Koizumi-san no Uta (Single Ver.)," which was distributed in January of this year, before turning to the opening MC. Leader Saito Madoka said, "July 13, 2022! We have successfully made our major debut as OCHA NORMA!" Fans applauded loudly.

From here, they went back to their live performance, singing "Mistake," "Go your way," and "Deeto Zenya Kyousoukyoku" which they had been performing since before they were named OCHA NORMA. The members, who had strengthened their bond at the event leading up to their debut, captivated the fans with their well-matched performance.
After continuing with three songs, it was time for the MC corner. Leader Saito said, "We're going to take a short break from the live performance from here on," and suggested to the fans, "Would you like to see a video of the members watching the music video of their major debut song "Koi no Crouching Start" for the first time?" she suggested. When the video started, "Good evening everyone," a message from Takahiro Sakurai, a voice actor who narrates the regular program "Hello Dream" (TV Tokyo), which closely follows the real sweat, tears, and smiles of the Hello Pro Kenshuusei was played. "What?" The members could not hide at this surprise video.
Sakurai said, "We have been supporting you all for two years and three months since the program started. There is a video I would like you to see today." A surprise VTR summarizing OCHA NORMA's progress on the show up to the major label's debut was shown.
At the end of the VTR, Sakurai called out the members' names one by one and said, "The Hello! Project dream came true for all 10 members. Congratulations on your debut. I will continue to support you.
A surprise of a different kind was also announced: the reaction video of the first viewing of the music video of "Koi no Crouching Start," which was originally scheduled to be shown, will be distributed on OMAKE CHANNEL at 9pm on the 13th.
The audience applauded when it was announced that the song had reached #2 on the Oricon Daily Single Ranking. It was also announced that an official OCHA NORMA TikTok account would be launched on this day to commemorate the release.
The last song, "Koi no Crouching Start," a funky tune that sounded the gun to start OCHA NORMA, was performed with a mixture of happy tears and smiles. Standing on the starting line of their major label debut, they made a spectacular start and ran toward their big dreams.
