I forgot to mention I went to a dragonforce concert in the beginning of april and I got the VIP package to meet the band. Got my guitar signed, got a drumstick from the dummer (who i follow on twitch and we are part of a cute little community of about 30 people), all-in-all an awesome time!

Also I got the band to say my username for most social media, Shwafta:

Mainly because the drummer loves my username and calls me "super shwafta" and then proceeds to do a growly metal-type of "shwaftaaaa" so here's when we met for the first time and he was giddy like a child, it was hilarious!

I got a new teaching job in Atlanta and am moving there this summer.

I actually had a full-day interview with a top-ranking private school in DC earlier in the week, and it was kind of overwhelming plus made me sad that my students right now don't get the same kind of resources. Tbh I applied just for the heck of it and was surprised they contacted me back within hours. I love DC, but it's so expensive and I'm sick of the pretentiousness around living here and big cities in the northeast in general.

I do want to teach at a private school eventually because I grew up going to one so there are things I value about the environment, but maybe when I have less energy to yell at kids on a regular basis.

Until today, I have only come across one duck this season and he was very high up on top of a Shopping Mall store peering down on me in my parked car.
But today as I walked past that same house, on the way to my barber, there were five birds in the front yard. One female duck, three male ducks, and one bird trying to blend!

The closest I got to seeing any ducks today was at the taqueria where I had lunch: today's special was duck with orange salsa. (I didn't try it.)
