It is announced that Sayashi Riho will be the new English teacher (MC) for NHK-E channel's "NHK High School Course - English Communication I" (Level 1). It begins on April 7th, Thursdays from 10am~10:20am.

"High School Course" is a TV program that explains the high school education process in an easy-to-understand manner. In "English Communication I," students learn to listen to and read about everyday topics in English, understand them, and develop the basic skills to speak and write about them.

Sayashi, who has decided to make use of her experience of studying English abroad, said, "There is a new world that I have expanded through learning English, so much so that I want to tell people that English is fun. For example, I can read local online articles about events that have been talked about overseas. In my case, I've even made job offers in English to people overseas that I'd like to work with," she said. "I'll try my best to make this a program that makes learning English accessible and fun for the viewers every week."

Sayashi's comments :
I am going to be the MC for NHK High School English Communication I in the year 2022. I am very happy because it has been one of my dreams to be involved in English.
I am now able to have daily conversations in English, but until I was in high school, I was not good at classes and had very little English ability.
But now, I want to tell you that English is fun! I want to tell you that there is a new world that has opened up to me through learning English.

I believe that the more fun you have, the more you can do, regardless of whether it's just learning or anything else.
I will try my best to make this program a fun and accessible learning experience for our viewers.
I look forward to working with you for the next year!

I would like to know the mechanisms behind Riho's solo career please.

I mentioned in Airi's thread about how it seems UF* is giving Airi their all by funneling a lot of resources into her career but in the same vein... How are so many resources being funneled into Riho's?

I get that she was an ace/center and her graduation was arguably before she or MM at the time peaked but like... Isnt she with a personal/small scale management? At least with Airi it makes sense that the weight of UF* is behind her. Riho on the other hand puzzles me, they're managing to do a LOT with what I would assume is way less resources!

Interestingly, when Riho first resurfaced, I distinctly remember her following no one on IG and now she follows 9.

One is her staff accounts, one tarento/model (Takizawa Karen), and five dancers/choreographers. The other two? Mizuki and Erina.

Considering how Riho initially seemed to have distanced herself from MM, it appears she is now embracing her "roots," if you will.

It is revealed that Sayashi Riho has been added to the cast for the new TV Asahi drama called "Ore no Kawaii wa Mousugu Shouhi Kigen!?" (My cuteness is about to expire!?), Airs April 16th (Saturday 11:30pm)


"My cuteness is about to expire!?" is a romantic comedy about Maruya Kousuke, a sales representative for a beer manufacturer, who uses his "cuteness" as his greatest weapon. Yamada Ryosuke (Hey! Say! JUMP) plays Kosuke, and Yoshine Kyoko plays Sanada Izumi , the heroine, a.k.a. "Robot Woman," who has had no romantic experience in 26 years.

Sayashi will play the role of Moriyasu Riko, the popular number one receptionist and Kosuke's girlfriend. This will be the first regular appearance in a drama series since she started her solo career.
