I tried wordle for the first time today. I got it in 3 tries.

I tried that Japanese one Zunu posted for the time. I got the word in 3 tries.

It's a pretty common Japanese word, but even so that's damn quick, my guy!

I needed four tries for the regular Wordle

Regarding the regular Wordle, would four tries be good or bad for someone playing for the first time?

I think 4 guesses is considered average for an experienced player, so it's not a bad score by any means, and probably a good score for a first timer.

Although, if your friend played Mastermind back in the day, are they really a first timer?

I never actually played Mastermind. I didn't have a set of my own. My cousins did, and they let me mess around with theirs, but they were all older than me — in their mid to late teens, while I was around 6 or 7 — so they wouldn't play with me. And you can't play Mastermind solo, for obvious reasons.

What they did was introduce me to comic books. I distinctly remember one time when they babysat me during a snow day — my parents both worked, so my mother dropped me off at their house — and they showed me their issues of Star Wars and Rom the Space Knight. It blew my mind that there was Star Wars between the Star Wars movies.

I got the Japanese Wordle in seven tries. First try, no correct kana. The next five tries, I only got the first one right.

I would post my results but for some reason every time I try submitting it I get an error for invalid post text.
so I'll just say the Japanese one (thanks Zunu!) took me 8 tries, though I should have gotten it at try 4 or 5 because I had the last 3 characters correct, and I just COULD NOT for the life of me think of the first character. Which was so stupidly easy.

That's what I figured, heh.

I assume upgrading is way too much of a hassle. A different forum I'm part of did it a few years ago and it took the owner a few months to do it, and still then there were issues.

Not to mention the work I do is upgrading things from older to newer versions so I know exactly what can go wrong in upgrades.

I played Wordle for the first time only last week and that was the only time I played it. I don’t like the element of luck and how people post their results so you’d end up comparing yourself with others. Also, I just don’t need another thing to hook me onto a screen even more. I’m reading my 7th book so far this month. I’ve been reading almost every day during my lunch break.

Also only went out to eat once when a friend visited and haven’t ordered takeout at all this month/year. I just want to get into the habit of cooking and saving more money.
