My area recently is going into lockdown again… and we were doing so well too, this spread again only because some guy who drove people into quarantine hotels went out and socialised that same day instead of putting himself on isolation like he was advised to do. Locked down here until July 2nd here… that’s the second time I’m celebrating my birthday under lockdown not sure if that’s coincidental or terribly bad luck and timing

Before this, we were allowed to travel through public transport, masks were required but that rule wasn’t heavily enforced. We were also allowed to travel to other parts of Australia depending on their rules and current Covid situation, We also had a travel bubble between Australia and New Zealand. We could socialise in pubs and restaurants but we had a “no standing” rule and you MUST enter with a mask and do not take it off until you have sat down and eating. Pubs had a capacity of 80 people allowed, we could go to clubs normally, they didn’t check our temperature anymore.
We all were able to go back to face to face churched with our religious practice respectively. Sports games like the NRL (National Rugby League) last year they still played but everyone had to watch from home. This year everyone was allowed to buy tickets and watch the games live. I’m sure there was more we could do but that’s what I can think of at the top of my head currently.

UPDATE: Lockdown is now increased to July 9th and spread to greater Sydney up to the Blue Mountains and Wollongong. So I guess now it’s everywhere

Figured I'd just pop in and state that my mom is home! And getting around remarkably well for someone that had 3 procedures (2 were done in the same surgery) in 2 days. The nurses at the hospital fought each other because they all wanted to take care of her. She's always been super compliant after surgery, but I can't recall a time where everyone wanted to tend to her.

I also learned that her surgeon and his PA are in a cover band. Didn't expect that, lol.

Long road ahead for her, but she should do pretty well!

That's great news, I'm glad everything went well! I hope recovery isn't too hard on her.

I hope that boinsie and everyone else in the Pacific Northwest is doing okay. A friend of mine in Bellingham, WA, said it hit 102℉ yesterday, and other cities in the area have been even worse.

Yeah, I hope everyone out that way has a way of getting some kind of relief. My friend in Portland said it was 111°F the other day.

Luckily, we managed to buy an AC unit for the first time ever, so thankfully our house is much cooler than the outdoors!
