Kamikokuryo Moe of ANGERME became a hot topic with "Azatokute Nani ga Warui no?". She appeared in a project called "Azato Karaoke Song" and sang YUI's "CHE.R.RY" and NiziU's "Make you happy," and her gorgeous visuals and outstanding singing ability drew a flood of responses.

Since then, she has been appearing on more and more TV programs, and has been selected as a regular for the season of "Hernandez" (every Monday through Friday from 11:55 p.m. to 11:55 p.m.), a show that has been given to young talents who are at the top of their breakthrough. She is in charge of Wednesdays from June to July, and her name became a trending topic on Twitter during the broadcast, further increasing her fame.

I've never thought about it or really watched much of the program but... is "Hiru nan desu" actually meant to be a pun on "Hernandes"...!? I feel like I'm severely missing a joke here(nandesu??).

^ I don't think so. If it is meant to be a pun, then citation needed. It's a daytime variety show, so as far as I know the title simply means "It's Midday/Noon!". All the nan does is kinda sorta make it an adjectival phrase, so… "It's Midday/Noontime Stuff!".

Their official website and IG accounts still being https://www.ntv.co.jp/hirunan/ and @hirunandesu_ntv_official make it even more confusing. What is Twitter intern trying to pull??

I'd a hoped to have an explanation but I've got no idea...my guess is that it's just a one-off gag that sorta stuck, like somebody calling you Boise as a meaningless quip and then the next thing you know everyone in that friend's mutual circle is calling you Boise all the time.
