The solo live "Hello Pro Kenshuusei 2021 First Solo Live ~Episode Zero~" was held at Nakano Sun Plaza in Tokyo on March 17.
The venue is also familiar to the Kenshuusei as the venue for the "Spring Public Ability Test" held every year, but this was the first time in the history of the Kenshuusei that all of them participated in a solo live.
The setlist was prepared with thorough measures to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus.
They started with "Kanojo ni Naritai!!!" while the audience clapped loudly to the opening SE. After brightening up the venue with a sweet and sour high tension number, they showed their strong step forward with "Arigata-Meiwaku Monogatari". They continued with "Warui Hito", which has become one of their most popular live songs.
After the introduction of the members, the middle part of the performance was divided into teams.
The audience waved their hands in unison as they sang "Tadashii Seishun tte Nan Darou" and then "Rainbow", which attracted the audience with its pop melody and dynamic line dance. Later, the four members of the Kenshuusei unit finally appeared on stage and performed "Mistake".
It was announced that all the members of the Kenshuusei unit would join a new group that Hello! Project is aiming to form this year. "We're thinking about how we can show our performance in a shorter time than usual" (Saito), "We want to get excited together with people who are seeing us for the first time" (Kubota), "I was happy to see that some people came to see the trainee event from the counterpart event!" (Ishiguri), "Sometimes the stage and the audience seats are close to each other, so I can see the audience's faces clearly" (Yonemura).
In the middle part of the show, there was a unique part. At the Kenshuusei recital in March this year, the teams that had passed a selection audition with their assigned songs. This time, the other teams were given a chance to perform their songs. In the daytime performance, Team White, and in the evening performance, Team Kurenai performed their assigned song.
Immediately after that, Team Tamamushi, the team that passed the competition, performed the same song.
Then the costumes changed and the Kenshuusei unit appeared again. They performed "Koi Shitai Shinto" and "Real☆Little☆Girl" in succession with impressive expressions of arms stacked in a row from front to back, and then changed members to perform the latter half of "Crying" and "Say! Hello!". All the members gathered on stage for "Animal Land" and sang the magnificent number with shining smiles on their faces.
In the MC, they made an announcement about the "Spring Public Ability Test" coming up in two weeks on May 3rd. In this year's performance, 15 members except for 4 members of the Kenshuusei Unit will perform solo songs to evaluate their abilities. In the daytime performance, the solo songs were revealed one by one, and in the evening performance, the singing order was decided by lottery.
The MC corner at the end of the performance was followed by a new song, "Kimi no Toujou". They continued with "Oheso no Kuni Kara Konnichiwa" and the venue was in a festive mood. In "Mirai e Tsugaru Yakusoku", they delivered their feelings to every corner of the audience with a ballad and closed the live energetically with "Ten Made Nobore!".
