My sister got her 2nd dose and she could barely lift her arm too. One of the nice staff gave a tip her to prevent soreness : move your arm around, massage it and also put ice on it a couple of times.

I got my Pfizer shot in my non-dominant arm, and surprise, surprise: I ended up having to do stuff at work that required more active participation from that arm than usual. I noticed some soreness starting a few hours after the shot and lasting through the next day, but I didn't have any serious pain or other noticeable side-effects.

Even so, getting my shot in the morning and going to work afterward probably wasn't the best idea. I scheduled my second dose for late afternoon, so I can just leave work early and go straight home after the shot.

So one of my coworkers left yesterday to get a J&J shot. She said she’d be in work today and I laughed at her. No way in heck would she be in work. Well, I was wrong and she was in work today, with a whole new head of extensions. And her only Covid shot symptom was a sore arm and a headache. I’m not sure I believe she even got a shot. It’s all so fishy. Why lie about getting a Covid shot? Makes no sense to me.

I only had a sore arm and a headache when I got my J&J shot too. Mild fever early morning but I got up for work and all. I know of people who had very minimal side effects. I haven’t had a high fever in general since I was a kid. People’s immune responses are different.

I guess everyone is different. If she did get the shot. I’ll give her that. Doesn’t matter to me, it’s her own choice to admit to it or not and her own body. But, Why lie about the extensions also? I mean, you can clearly see she had them put in. I don’t normally notice things like that, but it’s two different shades and textures on her head. It was Monday/Tuesday. It would be different if it were a Friday/Monday deal. People are talking at work about it. Just admit you had them done the same day? I’m not sure why she insists on lying about something we can all clearly see.

And the kicker is, no one would care if she took the time off to get her hair done. My work is super lax about stuff like that as long as it’s not a constant thing.

…in violation of HIPAA laws and her personal privacy. Unless she volunteers the information herself, you'll just have to sit and wonder.

Maybe you should spend more time wondering why you jumped straight to "Papers, please." Even as a joke.

I’d never ever ask anyone for papers, that’s not what I’m really complaining about. I’m just more concerned with the fact she didn’t need to lie about leaving work to get her hair done, if that’s what she did. If she got a shot in the middle of all that hair work, props for her I guess. But she has no reason to make up stories what so ever with me or any of the other bosses. If you have things to do, that’s why we have personal and vacation time. She also lied about going on vacation a few weeks ago, when in fact she just got new rims for her car and never went on vacation. She’s also misrepresented herself on more than one occasion.

It’s just weird she lies about doing things when she doesn’t need to make excuses. And since she’s a repeat offender, it’s hard to believe things that come out of her mouth.

Think, boy who cried wolf scenario. She’s that type of person. I know a few people like that and it’s really hard to know when they are telling the truth or just making stuff up for no other reason than to be in on a conversation.

I have no issue with what you've said. You're right, it's weird to lie about getting hair extensions if they're so obvious, and if everything you've said is true (gotta be fair, it's only one side of the story), then it is indeed a larger pattern of behavior.
