It was lot easier than I expected. I just made an appointment to get my first dose of the Pfizer vaccine Wednesday morning at a site only one mile from home.

My covid-19 vaccination story.
I had already made appointments at a CVS in Oakland which I later cancelled when the CVS in my home town had an extra dose so I took it (bird in the hand). They didn’t let me know that they wouldn’t be doing the second dose until after they stuck me. Oh well too late. They made the second dose appointment for me at a CVS in Berkeley which was the closest place available at the time. Anyway, that first Moderna dosage didn’t have any effect on me. On Monday, I got that second shot in Berkeley and like the first there was no effect (so I was thinking) on day one. On Tuesday, a day with 70-degree weather, I was cold all day until about 9 PM with wearing a sweater and coat and with the heater on in my house. Weird. Also, arm was now sore and a bruise appeared where I got stuck. Day three I just felt out of sorts and was back to normal on Thursday (day four). Some one I know said she had that same effect with the second Moderna dose and told me to drink plenty of water.

Good luck everyone and Happy Easter!

My mother got the phizer shot on Wednesday. She was a mess on Thursday, running a fever and pretty low energy Friday and Saturday but she’s coming out of it pretty quick. I can start scheduling for a shot tomorrow. I would love the Phizer am okay about Moderna and no way in heck will I get the J&J.

I’m on the Massachusetts massvax waiting list but I keep checking the local hospital for appointments because I know for a fact they have the Phizer version. All
The pharmacy’s are either getting Moderna or J&J but they are pretty booked solid.

rikkikow: Glad you're feeling better! A lot of people have reported feeling that way after the 2nd dose; at least it's fairly short lived, though. :o

Shoujo Q: Glad that your mom is doing better, and hopefully you'll be able to get a shot soon. Do you know which one your local Dept. of Health offers?

Heh, I was gonna ask on IG if you had gotten Moderna or Pfizer, but I figured you were gonna post about it here at some point. :hehe:

My 2nd dose is scheduled for the 16th. Hopefully I won't feel too crummy after it.

^ Our state has been getting shipments of all of them so it’s flip flopping. But it seems the majority has been Moderna at the mass vax sites.

I had been expecting Pfizer to be honest, but I was willing to take whatever. :xmas:

After getting the first shot, they opened availability to schedule my second shot online... I took the soonest appointment available (April 29), which I now realize is earlier than 28 days out. D'oh. My bad.
Guess I'll have to give them a call to reschedule tomorrow.

I was misled, too. When I went to the City of Berkeley website, it said that the mass vaccination site near me would have Moderna from Tuesday to Friday. But when I followed the link to sign up, that website said Pfizer, as did my appointment confirmation. :?: Whatever.

I'm supposed to be able to make an appointment for my second dose when I get my first one.

I'm going to San Francisco 4/10-15 for spring break. I'm excited to explore more on my own because I don't remember getting to do much with family as a kid. Definitely excited about all the good Asian food.
