Glad someone said something, earlier I wasn’t sure wether I should say or not, but it felt very VERY different without Sayuki given she was kind of one of the main vocals of this single. Even Tomoko taking over her scat at the end didn’t have the same feeling Sayuki did.

I think this the first time I’m glad I don’t really pay full attention to the single releases till the MVs are out. I think I’d be more upset if I was fully invested in Sayuki versions only to have the rug pulled out from under me with her being removed. The other songs from that performance were what fell flat for me.

I don’t want to even imagine what Pop Music or Magic of Love will be like without Sayuki. I’m hoping Ruru is the one to be put in place. Or maybe Rei? I feel like they are the only two currently that might be able to pull off the emotion needed for the notes Sayuki had.

^ It'd probably have to be Ruru for the big parts, no? Maybe Tomoko at a push. I think you're right Rei could handle the emotion, but if strictly speaking to the extended belt/high parts like in MoL; she's really good, but I'm not sure quite that good (yet anyway; I don't think her voice really lends itself to those big oomph-y moments either, but that's probably more personal preference).

It's still terrible the way it all happened, but she'd have graduated at some point and the same issue would've come up. Whatever they decide to do, I'm sure I'll get used to it. Thankfully I haven't heard "DOWN TOWN" so much that it bothers me a ton, even though I loved her part. It'll definitely be the older songs that do it.

Slim chance, but maybe someone they find in the audition will surprise us.

I’d love another little gem like Wakana to show up. But I feel anyone who has any real musical talent usually don’t like to go down the idol route unless they desperately love the groups they are joining or don’t realize their own talent.

As much as I love the group and members, new lines in DOWN TOWN feel empty without Sayuki (even the choreography looks strange for me). Seein this program t's sad realising that Sayuki is no longer in the group!

I have to agree. The performances were nice and mature, but come across as a little deflated without Karin and Sayuki!

I think perhaps Sayuki created such an idol image in Juice=Juice and considering her vocal ability is quite high calibre it would’ve been hard to imitate. Watching some of these lives like Magic of Love for example, you can see Sayuki does these fakes that would’ve been hard to pull off but she seems to do it effortlessly and I think seeing Tomoko attempt to do the same in downtown and slightly struggle I guess just threw me off a little. I’m sure I’ll end up loving the new version of Downtown eventually, after all they are bringing Yume and Riai out more, and they are showcasing Rei’s beatboxing skills

I hope one of the new girls they add to Juice has a fuller/thicker? (idk the right word for it) voice that can make up for the loss that came with Sayuki.
I also will miss Karin's crystal clear voice and all but that's easier to replace with some other uniqueness (Tomoko for example), but Sayuki is much more difficult even without taking into consideration the ridiculously high and long notes and stuff.
