My mother’s old Doctors office called to let her know she could get the shot either today or tomorrow. But... she no longer goes to that Doctor so really can’t get it through them without a reason? It was a weird call. They didn’t even know she wasn’t a patient there anymore. Like, do you even keep your records updated?

But we haven’t heard back to find out if yes, she can get the shot or no, you can’t get the shot.

It seems AP did a story about something I was curious about. Why Japan waited so long to get the vaccine.

I thought for sure Japan was going use the Astrazeneca Oxford vaccine first.

We took my husband's mom (70 y-o) in this morning for her first Pfizer shot! No complaints of any side-effects so far--she said she didn't even feel the needle. :hehe:

I was speaking to a Japanese friend and when I mentioned I was getting it, they were like "wow America's doing such a great job with the vaccine, I wish Japan was that good as well" -- and then I spoke to some other friends from other places with similar sentiments and I realized that maybe, in fact, the US has been handling the vaccination part pretty well for all everyone likes to yell about it.

Today started the 65 and those with over + those with 2 comorbidities. Which includes my mother in that group, so yay!
The website crashed a minute after it went live. There's over 1 million (+) who fall into the category.

I can't get a shot till the 4th step and they are only on the 2nd. I probably wont be seeing a shot till MAYBE summer if I'm lucky and the state figures out what the hell they are doing. Which is fine, because with my allergy shots I need to wait 72 hours between the allergy shots and a covid shot. And by the summer I'll hopefully be on a bi-weekly shot regime instead of the weekly.

I'd say it's quite impressive that we are 4th with a 16/100 rate, being that we're at 330 million. That means we've been rolling out the doses at an enormously faster rate than UAE/Israel/UK/etc, because of the numbers of people we have in the country.

It is impressive, especially considering that in we're rate-limited by the supply. Logistics aside, there just aren't enough existing covid vaccines out there for the USA to have the same conversion rate as Israel.

My boyfriend just called me to let me know someone at his work has Covid and he needs to self quarantine till he can get a test. I’m a little worried because I saw him yesterday. Hopefully he gets a negative test but won’t be getting a test till Monday.
