I’m wondering in the “new development” in regards to the Kenshuusei show has anything to do with this audition?
I’d love to see the full audition process for the Kenshuusei and how it differs from the general audition for those off the street.

It sounds like Tsubaki was asked if they wanted to be generational and were cool with the idea, whereas Kobushi did not want to become generational. I think the 3 being added after formation isn’t really indicative of them being generational already but it doesn’t really matter. If Tsubaki is happy then I’m happy for them.

Yeah, the last three were added before the group’s major debut, so it’s hard to think of them as a generation in the usual sense.

I can see the same pattern with Anju’s new members, the Kenshuusei members will likely add in a separate way with the winner from the audition one. Beside is it obvious that Kenshuusei program have this much exposure (harodori).

Entirely informal and personal. What they do amongst themselves is their own business. It's basically the same as members who were Kenshuusei together reuniting during the summer and winter tours.

Does any of this matter? By and large history has shown us management can pretty much do anything they want with group structure.
'New members', 'generations', it's all semantics at this point.
The only rules are the ones fans invent for themselves and those pretty much go out the window on a regular basis.

I'm always happy for new members, as part of a new group, concurrent, subgroup, solo or adding to an existing group.

If we really wanted to get down to brass tacks, the truth is that Up-Front (and its subsidiaries) has under contract roughly a hundred female talents, ranging in age from their early teens to their late forties, who are almost entirely interchangeable. They all have roughly the same skillset as entertainers, with relatively minor variations in proficiency. Everything else — calling them idols, calling them “Hello! Project”, organizing them into groups, calling some OG, calling some Kenshuusei, having ceremonies to transition them from one classification to another — is marketing and merchandising.
