Hello! Dream episode 26 9.28.20

https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1Fv411k7WY

This week, Hello! Dream cameras capture behind the scenes footage from the recital and include some Kenshuusei live performances. Plus Kenshuusei alumni Haga Akane and Niinuma Kisora share stories of their time in Kenshuusei.

On opening day (9/20), Hello! Dream starts filming as soon as Kenshuusei arrive to the Yokohama Bay Hall venue for their September live performance in front of fans. Inside the venue, everyone is wearing a mask. Mitsubachi-sensei begins their daily training exercises by having them stretch, jog and march in a circle to get their body ready and energy flowing. Then Kenshuusei begin rehearsals on the stage. Each song will have at max 4 members performing on stage. They showed glimpses of Yamada, Nakayama, Tamenaga, and Ishiguri rehearsing "Hatsukoi Sunrise". After rehearsal, Mitsubachi gives them all a lecture and some last minute valuable advice to Kenshuusei backstage. They show some Kenshuusei even preparing for MCs.

Just before the start, they show fans lining up outside the venue and entering with saftey pre-cautions. All fans are seated and arranged with distance from the stage. Backstage, Vocal trainer Ueno Mariko-sensei gives them some words of encouragement and get them fired up. Kenshuusei Hokkaido Ishiguri Kanami leads everyone with the H!P Kenshuusei chant in a more subdued tone, and not actually holding hands. The first performers get ready.

Hello Dream begins showing full camera recordings (several cameras from multiple angles) of the opening group performances, starting with Matsubara, Onoda, Hirayama, and Kitahara performing "43do".

Tsubaki Factory's DanshaISM and Ima Nanji? CMs play.

A break from the performances, Hello! Dream interviews H!P seniors Morning Musume. '20 Haga Akane and Tsubaki Factory Niinuma Kisora, who both joined Kenshuusei along with Funaki and Dambara, after they didn't pass the Morning Musume audition. They all became friends in Kenshuusei and all aimed to debut. After hearing Haga Akane was announced to debut in Morning Musume, Niinuma was worried about what she wanted to do next. Later, she would be chosen for Tsubaki Factory and felt relieved. Haga talks of when she joined Kenshuusei, she was only 11 years old, and had to travel from Nagano to Tokyo for lessons. She said getting on the Shinkansen bullet train was a little nerve-wrecking for her at the time.

Back to the opening group performances, with full footage of Tamenaga, Matsubara, Ebata, and Uemura performing "Omotesando A5", then into Nakayama, Onoda, Yofuu performing "Crying". Their performance was cut short for time.

Haga and Niinuma both remember some stories in Kenshuusei together. Everyone was rivals with each other, but they became close as time went by. They are asked which Kenshuusei they are paying attention to. Haga says she is watching Tamenaga Shion, since they are both from Nagano prefecture. Niinuma says she is pay attention to Matsubara Yuriya and thought she was cute as soon as joined. She keeps improving and looks forward to seeing her grow. Haga and Niinuma both give encouraging words for the Kenshuusei. Niinuma says to have confidence in yourself and look forward to each day. Haga looks forward to see all the Kenshuusei perform and giving their all.

The close out the episode with full footage of Kenshuusei who joined last year, Hashida, Nishizaki, Ebata, and Murakoshi performing "Tadashii Seishun tte Nan Darou".

Hello! Dream episode 27 10.5.20

https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV11Z4y157Tn

This week, Hello! Dream cameras continue to show more footage from the September recital, and lots of dress rehearsal footage from the day before. Prepare for some drama in this one.

- They recap footage from last week's episode. They show Ishiguri Kanami leading the Kenshuusei chant again and the live performances.

- The day before the recital on 9/19, cameras capture Kenshuusei arriving at the basement studio for dress rehearsals. All of them are together, wearing masks. They start off with stretches and lip rolls. On the floor is a bunch of tape, to replicate their stage.

- First off is vocal rehearsals. The members rehearsing "Ai Araba It's All Right" (Kubota, Matsubara, Saito, Onoda), Kubota made a timing mistake. She says it was her rhythm was off. Ueno-sensei hopes she won't make the same mistake on the real stage.

Next is dance rehearsals. They have to practice transitioning on and off the stage marked by the tape. Yofuu Runo made a tiny mistake on not paying attention, and went to where the tape shows a big "x". A no-no. She got a scolding from Mitsubachi-sensei to be more careful. After, they put a chair there to remind them. Yofuu admits she made a mistake. She will try to be more focused.

Tsubaki Factory's DanshaISM and Ima Nanji? MVs CMs play

Up next, another big mistake happens and Mitsubachi is having none of it with the excuses. The 4 members who were originally suppose to be performing "Massara Blue Jeans" (Hiromoto, Kitahara, Hirayama, Yamada) were suppose come up to do a stage check next. Hiromoto and Kitahara went up together. But Hirayama and Yamada didn't show up and then showed up late, both realizing their mistake. They tried to apologize many times. Mitsubachi had Hiromoto and Kitahara do the check for them while they were gone. Hirayama and Yamada tried to get to her explain and Mitsubachi told them that everything was taken care of by Hiromoto and Kitahara. Hirayama and Yamada tried really hard to appeal to her, but she was not going to change her mind or listen to them. She flat out ignored them hard, and walked away. Hirayama and Yamada had very shocked faces because a performance was taken away from them. After, they received a light scolding and lecture from a much nicer Ueno-sensei.

Hiromoto and Kitahara went on to perform "Massara Blue Jeans" at the recital.

"When you stand on stage in front of an audience, you must not make a mistake. The teacher gave them some tough love, hoping that it would not happen again. Whether they lost their chance or got it, it's important to know how to make the most of this experience in the future."
https://twitter.com/tx_harodori/status/ ... 4994838543

You can see Kenshuusei Unit waiting in the background as this happens to Hirayama and Yamada. They care about their fellow Kenshuusei. Everyone else already left.

In the interview, Hirayama looks like her heart sank and feeling dejected, explains what happened. She says she had earphones on and was so focused that she didn't hear they were being called up in the studio. Yamada says she was just in complete shock. This was her first time feeling this way. Hirayama and Yamada really did their best in this rehearsal.

During rehearsal, Mitsubachi called up Hiromoto and Kitahara to go over and handover Hirayama and Yamada's lines in Massara Blue Jeans. Hello Dream interviewed Mitsubachi about her decision to leave Hirayama and Yamada out. She gives some weird explanation and says it is just unfortunate that this had to happen. She said Hiromoto and Kitahara had the chance to show off more now. She talks too fast. Was it fair to remove them?

Everyone is back in the studio again wearing their stage outfits, and they run through the performance. They show a short montage of each rehearsed group perform. After, Mitsubachi and Ueno give them some tips on their performances. Kenshuusei are interview and are feeling excited to perform in front of fans again.

On the day of the recital, more rehearsal footage. They even showed Hiromoto and Kitahara performing "Massara Blue Jeans" together without Hirayama and Yamada. Mitsubachi never had a change of heart. Kubota got her timing right on her solo line. Ueno and Mitsubachi tells them to have more energy since they are performing in front of fans.

They show a little bit of Hatsukoi Sunrise / Yamada Nakayama Tamenaga Ishiguri, then showed Yofuu and Kubota not making mistakes from the day before.

Then Hello Dream rubs it in our faces, by showing that Hiromoto and Kitahara are only ones performing "Massara Blue Jeans", singing all the lines. They show the whole performance.

Backstage, Kubota and Hiromoto are really happy with their performances.

Next week, more backstage and performance footage from the recital

OMAKE : At the end, Nakayama Natsume gives a kiss to the unmanned camera, and Yamada and Yofuu give heart signs.

Hopefully, Hirayama and Yamada will look back on this mistake and laugh about it someday (in Mitsubachi's face) when they debut.

I think people who value their lives make a point of not laughing in Mitsubachi's face.

Hello! Dream episode 28 10.12.20

https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1CA41177pd

Yofuu Runo and Uemura Hasumi playing with Matsubara Yuriya's red thread.

This week's episodes features even more backstage and performance footage from the Kenshuusei September Recital.

- This time, Hello Dream features the Kenshuusei (The award winners) performing their solo songs from the test in front of fans, which was performed in two shows. Ishiguri Kanami got to perform on both. All of them perform the longer version of their songs, unlike the short version in the test.

7. Namida no Iro / Nakayama Natsume solo
8. Akai Earphone / Matsubara Yuriya solo
9. Tokaikko Junjou (2012 Shinsei naru ver.) / Kitahara Momo solo
10. Resonant Blue / Ishiguri Kanami solo

7. "Hitori de Ikiraresou" tte Sore tte Nee, Homete Iru no? / Onoda Karin solo
8. Daite yo! PLEASE GO ON / Tamenaga Shion solo
9. Watashi no Miryoku ni Kizukanai Donkan na Hito / Kubota Nanami solo
10. Resonant Blue / Ishiguri Kanami solo

- On the first day, they start by showing Nakayama Natsume (Suzuki Airi award) on standby for her solo. They show a clip of her perfect "Namida no Iro" performance and cut off when her solo dance part comes.
- Matsubara Yuriya is up next, in her first solo performance. Back during the test, Matsubara had thrown a red thread during her "Akai Earphone" performance. In this performance, she threw the thread again. After, Matsubara start crying backstage and other Kenshuusei had to pick up her red thread. Matsubara revealed that she accidently stopped and thought it was the end of the song (She was so used to the short version of the test) and said thank you. Her performance wasn't actually over yet, so she continued with the thread in her hand.
- Backstage, Kitahara Momo practices her solo and they show a clip of her "Tokaikko Junjou" performance
- Then finally comes Best Performance winner Ishiguri Kanami's solo "Resonant Blue" performance. Kubota gives her support.

- After the first performance, Mitsubachi gives her strict evaluation of the solo performances. She calls out Kitahara and Ishiguri's performance, and says she couldn't understand were they were singing in some parts. She wants them to sing the lyrics more properly next time. Ishiguri and Kitahara say they hope to sing better.

Tsubaki Factory's Ima Nanji and DanshaISM CM plays

- On the 2nd day, Hello Dream cameras were there for more footage of the performances. Backstage, Nakayama Natsume is smiling, but says her voice became very coarse after the "Hatsukoi Sunrise" group performance. She is worried about voicing coming out during her solo next. Nakayama tries to stay focused.

- Kubota Nanami prepares backstage for her solo song. They show a clip of her "Watashi no Miryoku ni Kizukanai Donkan na Hito" performance. After, Kubota starts to have pain in her throat and voice before her next performance. She asks some Kenshuusei for help and asks them to listen to her voice if its sounded okay.

- On the last day, Kenshuusei arrive early to venue. They have a camera focused on Nakayama Natsume, who is on standby for her performances. This time, another camera angle on her "Namida no Iro" solo. Her voice was fine on this day and her performance was near perfect. After, Nakayama had a big smile backstage. She was so relieved and happy and wonders what it will look like on TV.

- Vocal teacher Ueno-sensei gives her evaluation on Nakayama's performance. She praises Nakayama her for a job well done on her performance.

- Backstage, Kubota is still worried about her throat and voice. Yonemura Kirara says she will be okay out there. They another clip of her solo performance. Her voice came out just fine and has a big smile.

- Continuing on the last day, Onoda Karin is seen backstage preparing for her group and solo performance. Flashback to her Kenshuusei test performance, she felt frustrated that her performance was not her best. They show a clip of her "Hitori de Ikiraresou" solo now and she looks more confident and feeling more engaged in the song. She has a big smile on her face and owns the song. This side of expressive emotion we rarely see from her.

- And finally, Tamenaga Shion (Dance award) is up next for her solo. They show a clip of her performance, including parts of her rap. Since its a longer version of the song, she was running of breath towards the end. She got it done safely, but after she started to cry. She wanted to tell the camera staff what happen after the performance. She told them that she was trying to pull off the skirt change in her solo performance, but she kept pulling on it because it was stuck and she almost slipped. Then all of sudden, she showed the camera that she stopped crying. She seems to be okay when the group performances started.

- The September Recitals comes to end and all the Kenshuusei rush backstage saying "Otsukaresama Deshita" backstage. Ueno-sensei says they all did their very best. This wasn't easy to rehearse a lot of difficult songs in such circumstances and short amount of time. Nakayama shares her thoughts on the performances. She is glad the fans were having a good time, waving their lights during performances. The fans gave her the power to perform. Kubota is glad to have done the recital again. Kubota wants to keep going until she debuts. Onoda Karin transforms back to her plain looking self, and says she enjoyed it. Tamenaga had lots of fun each day, even though it was tiring everytime.

Next week, yet even more Recital live performance footage (the rest of the group performances) and more unmanned camera footage too!

I forgot they had that coming up. I'm assuming it wasn't filmed, but it would be nice to see the unit perform "Arigatameiwaku..".

Edit: I have no idea where this footage came from (livestream?), but here's 14 seconds of the Kenshuusei Unit at NATSUZOME2020.
