(I don't particularly care if you stay to watch others but...) Please skip to Fuku-chans performance of Fuwari Koi Dokei

Like, damn. I need UF* to resurrect HaroKaba and release this as an official cover/digital single. Fuwari Koi Dokei, like dearest., needs to become a staple of the girls who can ~sing~ for events like HelloFes and what not.

Fuku-chan sounds freaking amazing. I imagine Ruru would slay this song so hard as well. Augh, the possibilities.

Wow. That song really suits her voice if anything else.

Right?

I have no real understanding of music theory/singing or whatever but I'm guessing Fuwari Koi Dokei is not a particularly easy song to sing and Fuku-chan makes it look easy.

Also, I'm completely not surprised that Fuku-chan chose to sing this sing at a birthday event. The song just jives with the notion of Fuku-chan that I have in my head.

So, I'll be transparent with my bias but I think Chii-chan is visually stunning and possibly the prettiest MM. member (Maria is gorgeous as well but IMO in a very "idol"-ish way that I'm too lazy to articulate right now) but does her looks remind anyone of Nacchi?

I think Chii-chan fits really well into the "kokuminteki bijo" description (national beauty) that was attributed to Nacchi a lot.

I see what you mean. They both have very precise, delicate elfin looking features, with big eyes and a tiny north line, and a kind of tentative expression and demure body language. Especially regarding what I call "Nacchi 1.0," when Abe was skinny and pale.

From a week ago, in another thread…

Nayoko-Kihara wrote:Are the performances on Kawamura's show going to be "socially distanced" too? I appreciate the gesture, but man is it so incredibly unsatisfying to watch (and we already know they've been close together backstage/elsewhere anyway).

This, so much. It's been clear for a while, looking at their blogs and Instagram feeds, that things have pretty much returned to normal for them. All of the fussing with social distancing and vapor barriers when they record their programs is purely for show. It's theater, in both senses of the word.

But what escalated it from "theater" to "farce" was BEYOOOOONDS' appearance at TIF2020 — specifically, what happens at 3:58 in this performance of "Nippon no D.N.A!"…

Can anyone guess why? Hmm?

Anyhow, in N-K's comment above, I would change "appreciate" to "understand". I understand why they're doing what they're doing, but because I understand it — really, truly understand it — it just pisses me off.

(i watch idols to escape from real life, but all this is doing is reminding me of what's happening here in Michigan. if i didn't need to stay near my aging parents, i would have left this ridiculous state years ago.)

Unrelated to all of that but a H!P Musing I've had recently.

I have now used Lilium as a gateway drug to Morning Musume (and Angerme/S/mileage) for several Japanese friends now, and it's so weird to think that it's now an outdated representation of the group as most of those members have graduated (though amusingly Rikako and Kaede both ended up debuting).

I hope eventually we get another stunning stage play like that with the current girls. There have been a lot of great performances since, but nothing that I find myself wanting to show everyone I get a chance to.
