Meanwhile in Michigan, we're in the high 60s with intermittent showers. And it would not be an exaggeration to say autumn has come early, because some trees are already starting to turn.

Celedam and I were talking about SK TWO/SK-II in another thread and uh...

Coincidentally I noticed that they're starting to sell it at Costco in the united states and I kid y'all not, a 11 fl oz face essence liquid (like toner/moisturizer) is $199.

I knew this shit was expensive but didn't realize how expensive.

It's mostly been a very mild summer in my part of the S.F. Bay Area, but we're supposed to have a record high of 101℉ here today.

It hit 115 here, and 121 in Woodland Hills and Chino. There's a fire in the San Gabriel Mountains - there was a huge column of smoke earlier in the day, and in the evening, there were flames along the ridge. Tomorrow, it's supposed to cool down to 100, which should be an improvement. :fear:

I can't imagine ever paying this much for any beauty product, even if I had the means to do so.

Has it ever hit these sort of temperatures before?!

I woke up this morning and there was this orange haze covering the sky from the fires. So it's freakin 100+ hot and the air is very unhealthy to go outside at the same time. It feels awful.

And there's ash falling all over the place - the smoke is so thick it looks like a heavily overcast day. And there are evacuation warnings now for a bunch of the foothill cities.

Berryz: The 121 reading in Woodland Hills is a record (for all of L.A.), and a lot of the other highs are really rare, if not records.

I use a lot of skincare products because doing the whole Korean skincare routine changed my life, and I really believe that no one product is superior to regular use of a combination of the right products because no one product does everything. I have an Ipsy Glam Bag Plus subscription and I'd occasionally get something that retails even up to $80, and I really don't notice any difference. I just know that the whole routine has improved my skin so much. Even if I was dead tired I'd still do the whole routine every night before bed.

I've started doing the Korean multi-step hair care as well, and it's also been great so far.

That makes sense as a kind of general principle, I think: we put together or adopt practices (which may be highly individualized) that work in our lives, and for the most part, the best everyday-life practices work well with reasonably good products, tools, etc., rather than requiring one or two expensive items that are supposed to do everything.
