That was great Jessi, really good points about trying translate the lyrics. In my case, even listening to regular English songs, I generally pay little mind to the meaning of the words. (Like I literally just realized "I got 5 on it" was about drugs when the little kid mentioned it in the "Us" trailer.) So for me, trying to decipher Jpop lyrics syntactically is an extra-difficult step on top of just memorizing the way they sound. But recently I've been working more at it.
