Sorry about your dad, Cel. That's not an easy thing to deal with, but I really hope the holiday goes smoothly for y'all.

Merry Christmas! Happy Hanukkah! Happy... anything you do or don't celebrate, JPlop!

I mostly bought myself things for Christmas, but me and my brother both contributed to getting our parents some stuff.
My dad's playing with a $5 remote control helicopter while wearing his new sneakers, lol. I got my mom some new make-up and she was thrilled.
My brother got everyone a small box that looks like takeout and filled it with assorted candies. He also got me an electric throw, some sloth things, and a sweater (not pictured) that I ultimately have to return cause it's not the right size. :fear:

Some Jewish friends in Boca Raton invited us for Shabbat, so that's what we'll be doing on Friday.

As has become the tradition, my husband and I drove down on Saturday from Seattle to northern California to visit family, celebrated Christmas stuff on the 24th, and drove back up home on Xmas day because traffic is super chill. :)
Got Switch Lite case, thick hiking socks, and a nice new hoodie. ^^ My older brother made everyone homemade fruitcakes!

I spent Christmas at home alone with some KFC, but I took part in the family festivities in New Mexico via FaceTime. My dad, sister, and nephew all seemed to like the presents I got them. They were procrastinators, though, so the only present I've received from them so far is a new pair of Chucks. Unfortunately, due to somebody's screw-up, they're size 4½ — which is 5½ sizes too small....

I went to my mother's house on Christmas Eve and came back with lots of not-necessarily-healthy things to eat. By late Christmas Day, I realized that I was coming down with a cold, so I'm just trying to get through that now. But if it was possible to get rid of a cold by feeding it sugar, I'd be set. XD

My belated presents from my sister and dad arrived today: an assortment of spicy comestibles, including this!

My random thought of the day: it is surprisingly difficult to find decent store-bought banana nut muffins or bread in my area.

I can make my own, and my own is pretty great if I do say so myself, but then I'm obligated to finish it quickly, before it goes bad. As much as I like my own, I don't want to have it every day for a week.

Seriously! I made blueberry-and-creamcheese muffins last Thursday, and really regretted biting into the last one this morning. Definitely past its prime.

For banana bread, you could conceivably freeze half the loaf? Wouldn't be a good as fresh, but maybe still better than store bought.
