For my money the best thing that Hairy Belly has ever done. (Have a dear Japanese friend who used to call her that. XD)

TV "kick ass" series
“WARIGAMI”

You have to turn off your brain but the opening scene of this series was absolute kick ass and got my attention enough to watch. 2nd episode teaser stated that it's in Japan.

^ Thirty years ago, we already had this fine export from New Zealand:

When it was announced that Peter Jackson would be directing The Lord of the Rings, I immediately thought of this movie, Jackson's second feature film.

Even Jim Henson did some rather messed-up stuff back in the day:

Soylent Green (1973) was on the Movies! channel last night. Since I hadn't seen it in many years, I stayed up until 3 a.m. to watch it. I had forgotten that Celia "T'Pau" Lovsky has a small role in it.

Fun fact: Back in the day, one of my friends shared an apartment with Leigh Taylor-Young, who played Simonson's "furniture" Shirl in this movie.

I saw Ad Astra. It wasn't a waste of 2 hours and 4 minutes but it's one of those movies that gets enough details about space right that I get really irritated by the stuff they get wrong. Like one small f'rinstance, why do they do the bouncy effects on the moon but don't do them on Mars? (Martian gravity is about twice Lunar gravity but still only about a third of Earth's gravity.) On the other hand Ruth Negga in anything = good, so that's a mitigating factor.
