The motto roughly translates to "To have someone scold you is a big blessing." I.e. Having someone scolding you (looking out for your well-being) is key to happiness.

Seeing both Rio and Mei having Eiken must mean they're looking to help Miki out with the communication abroad... I don't think any lineup has had that many girls fluent enough in a non-Asian language.
