Some friends of mine always have a barbecue on the 4th (it's also their wedding anniversary), so I'll most likely go to that. At the end, some of us sometimes walk out to the Berkeley marina to see the fireworks, but as we get older and lazier, we tend to do that less and less.

I was at my dad's house last week, sorting through old papers and photos, and I found this letter that my three-year-old self dictated to my 17-year-old cousin, who mailed it to my dad in Japan.



"I want Japanese record." Some things never change.

I've become addicted to Philips Hue lighting.

Started with one bulb at first, then another, then a lightstrip behind the TV, then the ultrawide monitor.
I'm currently watching the Morning Musume '19 performance on this week's H!S with perfectly coordinated RGB lighting via the Hue Sync app.

I may do the entire house at this point.
