I went to breakfast this morning at the golf course. This female duck was working the tables with no fear even though dogs were present too. Image

The male was watching from this elevated pool of water the whole time she worked the tables. I had to chase the ducks around the pool to get their picture. XD

With that fountain (not to mention the course's water hazards) and all the bugs and worms in the fairway and the rough, that looks like a pretty good spot.

I think my toaster is dying: the spring has lost its spring, and the digital controls are acting a little flakey. In other words, stuff you don't want to happen to an electrical appliance that is specifically designed to burn things.

I'm looking at this one to replace it…

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LXQLRD1/

It has some bad reviews, and the points raised in those reviews seem consistent so they're probably legitimate, but it's still the best reviewed toaster with the features I want.

Sigh.

21st century cultural note #2:

This morning, I saw a woman in a full Handmaid's Tale outfit heading throught the turnstiles at the L.A. Metro Rail Mariposa Station in El Segundo. It's in an area that's all pretty much office high-rises and aerospace plants, which made the effect even more striking (it would have looked almost normal on Hollywood Boulevard or the Venice Boardwalk).

It could easily have been (and probably was) a political statement, but what I found myself thinking was that we really need a whole lot more cosplay in everyday life, just in general. I would be quite happy to share an elevator with a Hatsune Miku, a Captain America, and a Handmaid, just like it was an ordinary day at work.
(Or better yet, Captain America with Miku twintails and a Handmaid bonnet - then I'd know that I was in the right universe.)
If madness made us strong, we would all be invincible.

That reminds me of my time in South Carolina. I was visiting family and we went out for lunch and a group of people at another table were all dressed in cosplay from My Hero Academia. I tried to google if there was a convention around the area but couldn’t find one. So it was a little out of place but interesting non the less.

Anyone have recommendations for lawn mower brands? My dad is looking into getting a self-propelled mower to ease some of the stress on his back. We've been looking around, but he's open to suggestions.

I see we're all still ducking around ;)

Just wanted to let everyone know I graduated university today!
...I joined the Hello! Project family back at Be Genki! Naseba Naru. (Well, really it was a week after Ai no Album 8 came out, but the first thing I was waiting for was Be Genki.)
...That's a long time.
To many great things for us all in the future!

It depends on how much your dad is willing to spend; self-propelled lawn mowers can cost from 300 to 1200 USD.

If nothing else, though, look for something with a Briggs & Stratton engine.

I also recommend looking for a local or regional store that specializes in outdoor equipment like mowers. (Mine is Weingartz, but it's Metro Detroit only.) It's better than stumbling through a big box retailer, where the floor staff often know less than you do. If you can find them at all. A store that specializes can also help you with parts and service, which you will need unless you can afford to buy a new mower every few years.

This is a little too real for me...

^ Thanks for the suggestions. I'll pass along the motor brand, and do some looking around to see if there's a relatively close local place.

Congratulations on graduating, CaptainBerryzGiraffe!
