And the Flesh Eaters!

Someone posted a picture of them on FB last week, and I thought, "We are all so ancient now!"
But then again, that's life. What can you do but go on, and try to make some kind of strange party out of it?
And more than anything, I'm just glad to see people still going, whatever they're doing and however they're doing it.

Replaced it with one that works.

The other thing is that Chrome and Firefox have somewhat annoyingly been gradually ratcheting up their SSL stringency with each upgrade, so maybe your bookmark's link wasn't 100% to spec, but the browser still resolved it anyway but not any more? Thank you anyway, if it happens again, let us know, could be our cert provider is screwing up on the backend.

It was hard coming to terms with a grey-haired, balding Chris D.

Have you read his book, Outlaw Masters of Japanese Film? I'm insanely jealous of the guy, just because he got to interview the goddess of Japanese cinema, Kaji Meiko. :notworthy:

I didn't get to see the eclipse cause it was too cloudy. But I did see the super huge looking full moon this morning!

I didn't know about that - I'll have to look into it!

Well, extremely cold weather is coming to the Midwest. It's going to like -25°F in Chicago and obviously much lower with wind chill.

I'm heading to DC tomorrow and will be gone the rest of the week though. I'm taking the train, and it doesn't look like they're canceling the trip yet so hopefully it stays that way.

Yup, seeing that some areas up there will have wind chills of -60F and I'm... extremely grateful I don't live there. :fear:
Hope your train ride goes smoothly, esm! Hopefully DC will feel warmer than Chicago.

My mom had a minimally invasive surgical procedure on Thursday! The neurosurgeon fused the right side of her sacroiliac joint.
She said aside from post-op pain, it's not as bad as it was before. She's been having some GI issues since last night, and she was a little tired and out of it today, but she's moving around pretty well.

I have to get a referral and authorization (the insurance doesn't even require either of those!) from my doctor just so I can see the same surgeon. The guy is pretty much my last hope for getting a CT or MRI done, since everyone else has basically all but said "I could do that, but I don't wanna be bothered!" :|

I hope you get the authorization, and the OK for the CT and/or MRI, Moh!

Cultural note: The self-checkout system at supermarket nagged me once too often about removing all items from the checkstand this evening, so I said to it, (in my best melodramatic voice), "Insolent 'droid! Speak to me like that again and I shall have you decomissioned!"

I’m going to Aruba on Sunday for a week. I will very much be enjoying the warm weather after this cold and bitter snowy week.
