One of the interesting things about todays event was the number of foreigners in the crowd compared to yesterday.
Yesterday there were many, more then 15 including the French group that don't seem to speak English. Today there were only 3, me another white guy who I didn't speak and a nice guy from Taiwan. The really showed who the real S/mileage fans are!
Yesterdays event at Tower Records Shibuya was fantastic, I draw ticket #14 for the 1st event so with my length I had 1st row ticket and the girls were performing so close in front of us. Kanon couldn't help but laugh after seeing me doing the dances.
If you got a bad ticket you couldn't see anything, and most people got bad tickets. The smaller wota were already complaining about me being tall, even though some of the Japanese guys are as tall as me.
At todays event I didn't draw good ticket numbers 200 and something and 136, but it didn't matter since it was a concert hall with a high podium. Even from the back you could see everything, especially since the hall wasn't completely filled. Although the womens section was rather full, on both days btw. They got plenty of girls supporting them!
It's also good to say that the average age of the S/mileage fans is lower then the for most of the other older groups. There were plenty of high school kids in the crowd, both boys and girls. And not that many older wota, there goes the common assumption that all the wota are old men.
They performed the new single plus the favorite concert songs, Suki-chan... you name the rest. For the last streamed event they did a special timed mc for the new members show they could show themselves of for U-Pi (you really have to Pi it, not just a simple P or up) campaign. Kanana did the E.T. and the Gorilla monomane, Meimei was all fast and did all the monomane's that she could think of. Rina did an extended version of her usual short introduction, just really slow. And Akari just talked and talked and talked and talked, she really likes to talk.
The handshakes were all quick, so it was hard to really say something to them. Although it was interesting that they said automatic Arigato's to me, but then they realize that I'm not Japanese and go into the Hello, thank you, see you again mode.
So, if you can watch the event do it it's fun.... Oh just a note, the glow stick that ended up on stage scaring Ayacho during the 1st introduction wasn't thrown on purpose, it just slipped out of the hands of one of the wota....
