I am getting a lot of "File not found" messages when I try to renew a topic - although I suppose it could just be a case of the PHP code randomly accusing people of misplacing shop tools... XD

I'm getting it basically every other click (a thread, a link, a reply,...).

I went to Mexico for day of the dead and I feel homesick. I guess seeing the mess from election day makes me miss home. Lol

It's snowing this morning in Michigan. Big, heavy flakes. It's not quite sticking to the streets and sidewalks, but there's already a couple inches on everything else.

I think this is the earliest heavy snow I've seen in my entire life.

It took me almost the entire month last month to pay my full rent. I live with a close friend so I owed him rather than our landlord. ANYWAY, I paid my whole rent already for this month so... I'm proud I'm making progress. :mikihead:

I have an interview for a seasonal job next week, and also an interview for a teaching job... so at least there's some hope.

I just want to make extra money for the holidays so I can go visit my parents.

Good luck - I hope the job interviews lead to something good!

As you can see I mucked around and split a bunch of posts off in this thread and "pointless." Naturally, this did not work as expected -- the threads I broke off refused to delete cleanly so after fooling around in MySQL for a while I managed to move them out of the way. I'm a bit worried that if I try to delete them in MySQL it will screw something else up. To make matters worse, the forum backup process didn't terminate cleanly either, and the unpacked backup size seems suspiciously smaller than the size that the forum thinks it is. And there's no way I'm even going to try a full php upgrade if I don't have a good backup. When I'm feeling less annoyed I'll try a straight download of the forum directory without using the gzip tool. I'm leery of doing that because I have no clue if windows is going to properly preserve the directory structure from the Linux host. Anybody here happen to know offhand?

So that's what the "This board is currently disabled" message was about. I'd offer help if I could, but your post was like a foreign language to me. :fear:

I've been feeling like garbage since Thursday. Idk if I'm contagious or not, but I'm going to my doctor tomorrow, so maybe they'll test me for strep or the flu. :|

I think that Windows will preserve the directory structure - I've backed up directory structures from hosted/Linux sites to Windows before without any problem. My favorite tool for straight FTP backups, by the way, is WinSCP, which is open-source, scriptable, and pretty versatile.
