I get it from time to time. Try using a different tertiary domain, eg switch from jplop.com to www.jplop.com, or from http to https. Don't know if it actually helps, but it seems to help.

It might be another sign that the PHP engine is failing, following the changes to the "video" tag.

What I see, when I click various buttons (e.g., Edit, Submit), is that Safari downloads the PHP script rather than triggers its execution on the server. It's a relatively new development, and it's in addition to the hanging I reported earlier…

In the distant recesses of my mind I seem to recall that the old jpm used to have to archive and trim the forums from time to time to keep things running smoothly. Right now our database is at 425 mebibytes (445 MB) which I'm guessing must be too large. We're also running an older version of phpBB, basically because upgrading is a huge PITA that I haven't wanted to tackle in a long time. Guess I'll have to work on this one way or another -- it'll probably result in some downtime in the not too distant future.

Those gifs in the gif thread are pretty heavy sized.

I got the PHP script download a couple of times yesterday, and again this evening.

This is the season for odd spam text messages. I got one today urging me to vote of someone who was running in Florida, some 1000+ miles from where I live.
