This evening a friend and I went to the world premiere live performance of Princess Leia's Stolen Death Star Plans, an absolutely brilliant mashup of Star Wars: A New Hope and Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band by Palette-Swap Ninja, accompanied by the Awesöme Orchestra. I was surprised to see a familiar face from H!P fandom (Rayle at JPHiP) performing as a member of the latter.

Be sure to tell us all about your trip!

When I went to the supermarket to get some lunch a while ago, I saw a banner hanging up over the entrance to a Starbucks: Now Open 24 Hours.
Except that I read it as Now Open Over 24 Hours.
Although it wouldn't surprise me - it's usually that 25th hour (and beyond) when you really need a strong cup of coffee. XD

Another house came down within 500 feet of where I live. This time it wasn't fire or misadventure but neglect. Some older guy had lived there and didn't maintain the property for decades. He must have sold the property and the new owners felt that tearing it down and starting over was cheaper than fixing it.

Discovered two leaks in the roof last night, almost lost some expensive electronics in my mother's bedroom. Both parents are out of town and I can't deal with the attic so we had to call over a family friend at 10 p.m. to go up there and place down some buckets. I'm not at all looking forward to the fixing.

The job market must be getting really tight. I have recruiters sniffing around my LinkedIn page…

…my LinkedIn page that I haven't touched in about eight years.

No trick-or-treaters in the neighborhood this Halloween! :butbut:
Oh, well - now I have a 4+ pound bag of chocolate eyeballs and vampire lips that I'll just have to deal with. XD

It's been really light around here since fewer families with kids have moved in. We did get one bunch of about 10 traveling with a few parents. Instead of waiting out the night my mom decided to load them all up with everything in our bowl and turn the light off. I'm sure they were happy (though I was hoping to have like.. one almond joy for myself.)

I did end up making small treat bags for the few neighbor kids we do have, and a family friend with visiting 4 year olds up the street.
