I need to do homework!

=_=+

Why I haven't done it all evening is beyond me.

Bad habit. Bad bad habit.

I'm just really tired so I've been spacing out a lot this evening, and I tried to take a nap twice, which didn't work out. So I guess somehow I spent 5 hours doing that. xD

Personal statements are so difficult to write. I have soooo many drafts of bits and pieces, but not really any essay. Well, I worked a lot on two of them today, so I have two drafts now. It's like, I have tons to say, but I don't want to sound pretentious. I've read samples, and I don't even like most of them.

They are a pain in the butt, for exactly those reasons.

I just took a look at my grad school statement -- it was about two-thirds BS, and one-third non-BS (but that was for the English department, where they expect lots of well-written BS XD ).

._.

I messed up my performance today asjdfhkljhfsldjfhajskflhajsfkalshfjaklsfhakjsfhakjsdhfjksda.

I mean I didn't mess it up, but I went under the time limit. Seriously, wtf. Every single time I practiced I went OVER, but when I actually perform, I go under.

I think I just spoke way too quickly because I was one of the last performers and my professor was kind of rushing us.

But ugh. I never want to perform again. ;.;

Rule #1 when a horse throws you: Get back on the horse.

You can do it! When you're starting out, anxiety and nervousness are big factors, but after you do something like that for a while, you start to get some control over it.

And going too fast is very common when you're starting out with any kind of spoken-word thing. It's just another thing to work with and practice.

So in my Religion & Political Conflict in South Asia class today, my professor lectured us on women and the Qur'an, and how women are really presented as equal. I kind of knew a bit of it, but even I didn't know as much as she lectured us on. But what amazed me was... how people took in the information. They were so intrigued and so interested and they were able to let go of all of the crap they heard in the media about Islam to understand it, and when I talked to my friend after class he said it was his favorite class session that we had.

I don't know, it was touching. And it just proves how /extremely/ important education is.

That's so awesome.

Today was another profound day in neuro lab. I love neuroscience so much. I liked biology since high school, but neuroscience is just a new level of love beyond passion as I knew it before I came to college. xD

I mean, I like philosophy and languages too, but I never had to genuinely fight and struggle with those.
