The costumes in the profile shots remind me just a smidge of °C-ute's "The Power", because of the triangles in the pattern.

rap arranger U.M.E.D.Y. supposedly died a few months ago. Not sure how they implemented his work.

The one who arranged Morning Musume. '17's Jealously Jealously rap, U.M.E.D.Y. (Masaru Umehara), has passed away last month (12/21) at age 46 in the hospital in Tokyo, according to his wife's post on his Facebook. He was battling glioblastoma since 2012.

2012年6月末に膠芽腫と診断され永らく病気療養中でしたが、

12月21日午後1時00分に東京都内の病院で逝去いたしました。

生前は皆様に大変お世話になりました。夫に代わって厚く御礼申し上げます。

つきましては通夜ならびに告別式を行いますのでお知らせ申し上げます。

Those covers are quite plain. Like the quality of the cover is reminiscent of Up Up Girls (2).
I appreciate the Kitto Watashi wa outfits not being plain though.

Oh man I totally forgot about this. I was wondering why we hadn't seen much raps lately since that and The Curtain Rises. Jealousy Jealousy was so great because of its rap part. Thanks U.M.E.D.Y.

Theory 1: Maybe this was a song meant for a bigger Kobushi Factory and they held it back because of all the craziness that went on last year?
Theory 2: Maybe this was a song meant for another group that never got finished and they decided to pull it out of the ancient H!P files to give to Kobushi Factory?
Theory 3: U.M.E.D.Y's spirit lives on inside of a massive super computer and it spits out sick beats for future H!P releases.
Theory 4: Like the Dhali Llama, the name of U.M.E.D.Y was passed down to a new successor who will continue the work of providing sick beats to future H!P generations.
Theory 5: U.M.E.D.Y in his final days just furiously wrote down and recorded as much as he could so that his words could be pieced together ala Hatsune Miku style for furture use in H!P songs.'

Either way, I'm glad his spirit lives on even after he's gone.

A more likely scenario to me is that this song was already written/done before he passed.

I don't necessarily like the covers, but I do like the Kitto Watashi wa outfits.
