Having friends isn't going to stop someone from trying to kill themselves.

Honestly, the girl might have more issues than the ones we know about. Does she need help? Sure, but it's not always that easy.

I mean come on.

I will always feel for people who are troubled. Whether they bring it on themselves or not. She's a human who hasn't committed a ridiculous evil, after all, and her life is just as precious as yours or mine, in my opinion. We don't know that much about her. Her psychological issues are probably much more intense than we'll ever know. So yes, I feel sorry for her and I worry about her. And I don't think she's stupid because she tried to kill herself or that she apparently hasn't sought help. When people's lives mess up so badly, it's understandable that they might not reason like they should. Do you really think people with suicidal thoughts immediately think "God, how stupid must I be to want to kill myself? Let me haul myself to the nearest psychiatrist!" If they don't think their life is worth living anymore, why would you expect them to think rationally? She's obviously tormented, so I don't think it's fair to pass judgments like that on her.

The H!P girls aren't her friends they were her coworkers. It's like when you quit a job, you lose touch with them. She even said she went backstage to a H!P show and nobody really acknowledged her but Yossie.

I'm sure Kago has more issues than the press knows about. Im also sure the yakuza bit is just tabloid fodder. No police report going public would mention that.

I hope she makes it through what she's going though safely, and finds something better in her life -- whatever that is, and whatever that takes.

Also, remember that this is Japan. I wouldn't be surprised if it was hard to get help for things like this to be honest.

Although, it must be terrible to try to commit suicide and fail. Personally, I'd be frustrated if I didn't succeed. Not that I'd ever try committing suicide, because I don't think it's the right thing, but still.

If a Japanese woman truly wants to kill herself, she can easily fling herself in front of a moving train or down a mountain. And there's not even that much shame in doing so. So I think the fact that she "failed" is an indication that there's a part of her that desperately wants to go on living. It means she's still on the cusp, she could go either way. Right now, more than ever, she needs someone to be there for her.

If one is trying to commit suicide to actually murder oneself, they don't usually call someone to allow for the attempt to be thwarted.
But whether this was a true suicide attempt or just a cry for attention, I do truly hope that she gets the help she needs. I'm no psychologist and obviously I haven't talked with her so I can't say what could possibly help her, but... I really hope she gets better.

Basically, people often don't make up their minds to do things all at once. So sabotaging your own suicide attempt is, as I said earlier, a sign that you might be open to being helped, but it doesn't mean that you're not serious about it. My quasi-ex-girlfriend once dated a guy who was all like, "stay with me or I'll kill myself." To which her response was, yarite. So he killed himself. And she's never entirely forgiven herself for not taking him seriously, although of course she realizes on an intellectual level that his choosing to be an asshole and ending his life was not her fault in any way.
