I was browsing Tokyo Hive and decided to see how Morning Musume faired on the Recochoku charts. They usually never do well at all. So I wanted to see if Youtube Hype translated into Real World Japan Hype.

Surprisingly, all three MM'16's MVs were in the top 10! Utakata Saturday Night got #1 for the week (Tokyo toiu Katasumi got #5 and The Vision got #6). Which is great, great news! Because their last single failed to crack in on their debut week at all.

At the moment Utakata Saturday Night is still at #5 for the day, Tokyo toiu Katasumi is at #18 and The Vision dropped out of the Top 50 to #77.

I'm so happy for this news.

Now that the first week is over, it's digital sales like this that interest me more. These are non-wota sales, and if MM wants true popularity, they have to get non-fans to care. So Billboard and Recochoku successes are making me super happy.
