I can't watch it since YouTube is out of order for me, but based on a couple of the covers and those caps I feel like Miki is stuck on using some weird angry expression that's a bit uncomfortable to look at.
I rather like the video. I liked the studio feeling of most of the shots and I love the quick paced somber/solo dance shots. Zukki's smile was perfection.
I know I'm biased, but I really think Masaki owned many parts of the video. She looks great and she was working her charm.
Trying not to be negative but they could have done so much more, even if they were on a budget . Change camera angles, added more scenes in the location they were at , etc.
The girls themselves did look pretty however. Kanon and Haruna should always wear their hair like that
I love it. I loved the set from the beginning and the serious/slightly depressed feel the solo/image shots give along with the quick editing really conveys the loneliness one can feel in a big city like Tokyo. Which, imo, seems to be a lot what the song is about. I love the various angles they used and the variety of closeups. The editing in general is spot on though, I love it and, for MM videos, it feels rather new too. Keep this guy/girl on for future vids plz.
The wall shots make the MW a lot better, but I still think they could have done better with the set for the dance shots. And their costumes for the wall shots should have been the main costumes!
Personally, I think it is a very powerful song, especially if you have actually been to Tokyo, walking alone at night on a busy street.
maybe my expectations were lowered from reading so many disappointed comments, but i enjoyed the video. it had enough impact that i watched it multiple times in one sitting, at least.
i agree that the casual outfits should be featured more prominently- those scenes were the most engaging. the main costumes conflict with the tone of the song. i feel like they were trying to impart some kind of symbolism by contrasting the bright, colorful (and very staged) showcase against the darker, lonelier solo shots, but it seems to have kind of missed the mark.
i always end up wishing that ufp would just take the extra step. it could have been cool to film the dance shot in odd, gritty parts of the city- possibly with nonplussed people passing by. i suppose that in the end, i do like the video, and i will buy the single, so i can see why they don't have much incentive.
