Not unexpected at all, I think. I was half expecting them to announce something like this at the Countdown Concert.

I wonder if they'll follow the pattern from the past 3 H!P auditions/additions (CG, Moe, 12 gen) where they just introduce them sometime in the Fall~near Winter and then have them officially start activities in 2017/countdown concert.
But, considering how early in the year this audition was announced, it might become a mid/late summer reveal with a mid Fall start of activities sort of situation, which is fine too.
2 nin would be nice.

Maa-chan probably wants another 4 member generation to get back at Sayashi for leaving. Red color is available. after that, they are running out of gradation colors.

if Taisei and Shimizu Saki chose Kamikokuryou Moe, then I trust them to choose a new Morning Musume member.

I honestly think now that Akane and Maria were added because one adored Sayumi and the other resembled her.

I don't want new girls. We have more than enough members, just promote them properly!
All I'm excited for is the finalists, since the golden audition finalists managed to nearly all debut(Uta, Moe etc.).

1-2 is fine, I think 4 would be overkill. I like big Momusu but I don't want them to get TOO big.
