Well, typically we are singing songs that were originally sung by females who naturally have a higher range than boys, so pitch shifting the song down is necessary or I wouldn't be able to hit half the notes.

There is a way to lower the pitch of the vocals while keeping the rest of the song normal:

Spoiler: show
Create a vocals only version of the song:

Change the pitch of the vocals only version and then combine with a center panned vocals removed version.

By lowering the pitch by a certain number of notes you get a version where the vocals will be close to the same key as
the original so it won't sound weird. (lowering by 5 or six semitones will only flat or sharp one note).

I get that, but what I mean is that when you sing it at karaoke, it will anyway have to be sung in that female range, therefore making it hard to sing then, anyway...

What I am getting at is that lowering the vocals 5-6 semitones should not sound weird when sang with the original music because it would almost be in the same key. Also, if I practice that way then I won't have to worry about the pitch while singing and I can concentrate on making the syllables clear.

But that doesn't mean the song itself is in a different octave/pitch.

This phenomena occurs when you try to sing a H!P song, but they sing too high-pitched for your voice range, so you drop a full octave and sing with a deep voice so you can sing the song. The pitch/octave of the song is exactly the same! You just are singing with your own voice in a different octave.
Actually, the perfect example would be today's Green Room when Akari's voice training is happening. When they are singing together, she is singing in a higher octave than him, but they would have used the same instrumental to sing the song. (meaning, their voices are the different pitch, not the song.)

I think this is what he's doing. Changing the female's pitch voice one octave down while maintaining the song's pitch so that he can imitate the pseudo-guy voice, which is the range he will be singing in in Karaoke.

O.o Well, I'm still generally lost at what, specifically, you are doing, but you seem to be on pitch when singing during karaoke so...whatever you're doing seems to be working fine lol
