I read the novel by Andy Weir, and except for some editing tricks (e.g., at 2:22) that I think will be revealed as such when the movie is released, this looks pretty faithful to the source material.
It's interesting to me that this comes so soon after Gravity and Interstellar. I wonder if the market research shows a real and renewed interest in serious space exploration, and if so, why.
It's also interesting to me how Ridley Scott seems to love those severely lit roundtable scenes.
The Nintendo World Championship was a lot of fun to watch. Shigeru Miyamoto continues to be one of the most charming guys around. Even if he's only on stage for a few minutes it's always a feel-good time listening to him speak and watching him look just as excited as the fans to be there.
It was really funny watching them try to talk about the winner and other stuff, and you just see Shigeru not understanding a word, being like "YES!!!! HERE'S THE CHAMPION!!!! YESS!!!!!!!!" lol.
Also, Ubisoft had one of the worst presentations I've ever seen. Can't wait for nintendo's soon <3
NoBerryz,NoLife. Please people, I'm a "he" not a "she".
My lasting thoughts include: - Enjoyed the lack of real dialogue. That's always interesting. - The noises used for the wildlife were grating/annoying, I changed channels briefly more than once because of them. - The eruption/quake scene was way too long. - The ending felt completely unsatisfying. - The perfectly made-up, bra-having cave women were silly. - Cool turtle. - Happy to have watched it. Probably won't watch it again.
