Teaser 1 didn't quite convince me, but Teaser 2 certainly did the trick.
It feels so grounded: completely devoid of the CG sterility of the prequel trilogy.
I'm still cautious because on the whole I disliked the Star Trek reboot, but so far J.J. Abrams seems to be nailing the 'Star Wars'-feel.

^ I particularly like Han's line at the end. Besides the obvious meaning — the return of favorite characters — it's a hint that everyone should just quietly agree to forget the prequels and start over fresh.

(it's also a little weird how much Old Han Solo looks like my father. i can't say "how much Harrison Ford looks like my father", because Harrison Ford is usually pretty clean cut. Old Han Solo, on the other hand, is scruffy and weatherbeaten like my father.)

Keeping my fingers crossed that a non-historical setting will do away with some of the needlessly complex (and often quite useless) systems inherent to the series.
And that the finished game isn't bug-ridden and unpolished like the last few Total War games.
They have a built-in audience with the Warhammer tie-in: no need to rush. Let them take their time to finish it.

It's very dramatic and can be over-the-top at times. I love it. :mikihead: There's not too many episodes, so I'd just say watch the first few to decide if it's worth finishing.

Not too many? That's good! I find the 22 episode seasons very daunting!

Yeah, it was pretty short because of when it started. I get the feeling they'll probably order a longer season next time just because it had such high viewership.

This reminds me why I prefer the original Rome: Total War and its expansions to Rome 2. I don't really like downloading patch fixes for games because it feels such a rip-off.

To be fair, in it's current patched state Rome II is actually quite enjoyable.
I got it during a Steam sale for very little money. Just a shame it took so long to fix.
