i've never really liked the word "Factory" so i'm not crazy about this, but i'm not upset about it either. it's nice at least that it comes from Koubou. i agree that it would look better as こぶしFACTORY or with some other visual quirk, but again, don't feel super strongly about it.

The Kobushi flower (Magnolia kobus) tell us the coming of spring with white flowers. Tthe place of its origin is Japan)
The language of flowers are "Friendship" "Trust" "Welcome"
They will deepen their Friendship and Trust each other and aim to be the group who is be welcomed by a lot of people.
And "Factory" includes the spirit of "Berryz Kobo" goes on hiatus.

As for the name, I don't hate it. It's actually kind-of nice that it carries on the Berryz Kobo relationship in multiple ways, but isn't straight out Beφz Kobo or something.

On the ２５th, the name of the 8 person new unit under female idol collective 「Hello！ Project」 has been decided as 「Kobushi Factory」。 The formation of the new unit was announced at the New Year's performance that was held on the ２nd of January at Nakano Sunplaza in Tokyo。

　For the origin of the unit's name、 there is the 「elegance」 of the magnolia kobushi、 the flower of Japanese origin which blooms with an abundance of white flowers、 informing you of the advent of spring、 while at the same time the name has the meaning of the desire for the group to possess a 「strength」 that is symbolised by a 「clenched fist (nigirikobushi)」、 those are the thoughts behind it。 「Friendship」「Trust」「Welcome」 in the language of flowers、 by mutually deepening their 「friendship」 and having 「trust」、 they aim to be a group who are 「welcoming」。
