Fair enough. I copy-and-pasted it from Denki's header, without checking it. I really don't care either way, I just want us to move on already.

Angelum just seems like an unnecessary added complication. Angeloom or Anjuroom would be slighly better, maybe. Better still? ANGErme.

But personally I think the "official" (and I assume by that you mean, "jplop-standard") name in the thread titles should be just アンジュルム, and then people can pronounce it in their heads however they want. Maybe the first post in a thread could parenthetically indicate アンジュルム/Anjurumu/ANGERME/Angel Tears as alternatives. I'm not pushing that as mandatory; the people who are kind enough to dig up the information and start the threads can use their best judgment.

But more than that, I'm inclined to agree with Celedam in that I think it's time to kinda wrap this up. I think maybe we can give until the end of December 24 for people to put in their final comments, and then we need to stop clogging up multiple threads with this controversy which is impossible to resolve to everyone's satisfaction.

I'm sticking with this. This is how the members say it.

Angerme (two Mixed French words) could be typed as :
アンジュルム (Japanese)
Anjurumu (Romaji)
Angel Tears (English translation)
Angelum (The way the members pronounce it)

The way I pronounce ANGERME in French is closer to the katakana "anjerumu" than to "anjurumu". This is 100% Japanese, not French as far as I'm concerned. I just stick to ANGERME pronounced as "anjurumu" because it's the only correct way to say/write it anyway.

The official name is "Angerme" so just use that.
If people can't stop getting angry or upset or whatever about that it looks like "omg anger me in english omg" then that's their problem tbh.
Time to get over it.

Not really. It's graphically styled as ANGERME, but the official name is アンジュルム. Look at the menu on their own webpage. All the H!P artists are listed in their true official names:

モーニング娘。’14
Berryz工房
℃-ute
アンジュルム
Juice=Juice
光井愛佳
ハロプロ研修生

EDIT: Fixed typo. Thanks, torches now! :-P

It's quite dismissive to keep saying "get over it"

People feel how they feel. And seriously it's been less than a week or so.

I get saying "get over it" to people still mad that Yuka and Saki graduated, but this name thing is still fresh.

Angerme isn't French but it's based on French words and a French pronounciation. English isn't the only language in the world and I get that.

But to an English speaker Angerme sounds nothing like Anjurumu. It's very difficult for me to reconcile the Japanese and it's anglicized counterpart. So when someone suggested Angelum it seems to sound much more like an English version of the Japanese. The Lum ending correlates better to Rumu.

It sort of upsets me that it was dismissed so quickly and so harshly. I think there is nothing wrong with us discussing this for a little while longer.
