If someone changed their name from something like Timmy to something like Batman, yes they would still be the same person on the inside, but the name Batman would be highly distracting and take quite a bit of time to get used to...

France

Maybe there are larger numbers of H!P supporters there than in English speaking nations thus the French take on the name.

^^Except that H!P-style, it would be Bat Timmy, which would turn into B/attimy. XD

Some of you might need some ANGERMANAGEMENT over this name.

:fear:

I would've worked a slash in there, but it would disrupt the flow.

I liked this post for it's creativity, but I'll have you know that reading it hurt my soul. XD

Also I hope everyone here knows I'm just venting

I don't love the girls or the group any less and will continue to support them as before

And I'm super excited to see 3rd gen in action!

I've been a huge fan of Rikako, but since she joined Murotan has really caught my attention. She's such a sweet heart.

I hate the name change. I loved the name s/mileage and I'm sad that it's successor isn't what I hoped it would be. But if it means anything I still don't like the name Juice=Juice but I'm very used to it and I still love and support the group lol.

It's OK -- we all live with weird names at some points in our lives. XD
I used to manage a store called 'Poc Records -- "'Poc" was short for "Lompoc", which didn't help much, because the store wasn't even in Lompoc (and if it had been, that wouldn't have been much better, since some of the people who lived there didn't even know where Lompoc was XD ).

^ So was it pronounced "Poke Records" then?

I know Lompoc because it was the terminus of Quisp and Quake's cross-country race in an old cereal commercial. XD

The most common local pronunciation of "Lompoc" was "Lompoke" so it was usually pronounced "Poke Records" -- but there were people who pronounced "Lompoc" as "Lompock", and between that and the general befuddlement over the name, it did get called "Pock Records" on occasion. XD

And of course, Lompoc is the setting for this classic W.C. Fields movie:

every time I see "Rikako" I see "Risako" and it confuses the HELL out of me for about 10 seconds.

I think if they just replaced the R with an L it would make life much easier. But I understand it needs the R, I think? I don't know French so I dunno. It feels awkward mispronouncing English words but I guess I'll make an exception for ANGERME.
