Got my stuff to send out all together! Now I just need to get to a post office (my biggest challenge since they all close before I get off work and most aren't open weekends. Oh Japan.

How long, normally, does it take a package to go from NY across the country?

Depends on what type of shipping you opted for. If you mailed through USPS w/in the USA, there should be a a estimated delivery date on the receipt.

Mine has been sent! It's always fun when having to declare what you're sending in a gift. You have to be vague enough so you don't reveal all before the person getting it opens the box (declaration is pasted on the box for all to see) but be specific enough to make immigration happy.

I had that problem too! I had to really think to find the write vague term.

I also had to think if using American terms might be understood better by the [censored] post office, e.g. using "candy" rather than "sweets."

I'm getting my person an assortment of little things. I've bought some already, and I'm going to look for another item or two today. But I had to order something, so I won't be mailing anything out until that gets here. Hopefully it won't take too much longer, since I ordered it almost as soon as I got my assignment.
