Amai Melody is awesome, the monochrome section of the video is just beautifully shot, the sparkly belly dancing bit... Not so much, musically it was great sort of a weird hybrid of clubland and a ballad, not sure how they made that work but thank the gods and devils it did. Suki no Kazoekata just made me giggle, cheap as hell but they knew it and ran with it, why not?
Bold, brash, uncensored and unscripted. How I have been all my life, not gonna change now!
It's really a shame, I think, that Kikkawa isn't better known. This single and the last one both felt like they could be the kind of music that casual listeners of J-pop in general would really like. Her voice is really nice and the music very mainstream friendly.
That being said I should really purchase both singles and sing her more at karaoke, expose her to my friends.
That's a shame, this single was Solid. This is one of those times I really hate Oricons new policy about not counting overseas sales. I used to buy all the versions of Kikka's singles to help and it actually FELT like I was helping, now in order to do that I have to go through someone who lives in Japan every time and it's generally a big ol pain in the butt.
