Incidentally, if you've been wanting to order something from Japan but have been waiting for exchange rates to improve, now would be a good time to buy. The JPY to USD exchange rate has been falling over the course of the past month and is now at ¥1 = $0.00920229 — the lowest rate since 2008.

I just paid my ¥8901 "Charge 2" on FromJapan, and because of the falling rate, I spent $4.45 less than I would have just one month ago.

Sunday afternoon, I bought a full slate of merch at the concert:

Monday afternoon, I went to BOOK-OFF. The stuff in the idol CD rack tended to be on the pricey side, but I found some great items on the other shelves, especially in the $1 and $2 sale sections. I was surprised that the selection hadn't already been gutted by other H!P fans, but either my tastes are a bit atypical or I just have mad BOOK-OFF skillz (probably both).

^ Abe Asami's album!! I like both of her albums. I think she was one of the first J-Pop artists I listened to back around like 2004-5.

We went to BOOK OFF on Sunday, but I didn't have a lot of patience looking through alphabetical Japanese (which I can never remember the order to), so I only ended up leaving with a Sharan Q best of I'd been missing. ^^;;;

I'm doggedly persistent when it comes to shopping for bargain-priced J-pop. You should see me rummaging through box after box after box of unsorted 45s at RECOfan Shibuya….

My general strategy is to look through all the miscellaneous sections, if I have enough time. I only skip the specific sections for artists I don't care about. You never know what might be in the miscellaneous sections, especially if things have been misfiled. When I was at BOOK-OFF NYC in 2008, I found a first press of Michiyo's JECICA CD in the し section.

Found the DVD at Bookoff for about $10. It was in the AKB section :lol:

Given more time and patience I would've combed through the $1 shelves, but maybe some other time. The very last Sayu towel sold right as I made it to the merch table too, so I just bought my number 1 & 3 favs. Boinsie picked up the shirt for me, but then informed me that it was actually esm that bought it, so many thanks to you both. :heart:
