I loved how they handled that by the way.
It's not hard to imagine that those 200 fans were the hardest of the hardcore.

Footage had just started running on TV, then BOOM: announced at the event and a gradual infodump in the weeks afterwards.
All the press got on the train and Sakura did appearances at every consecutive concert so that everybody got to know her.

Her first single and that Oricon #1 wrapped the whole thing up nicely.
All the endless speculation and picking favorites got skipped.
And hardly anyone whined about those that didn't get in later.

Clean, no nonsense and a total surprise.

I was disappointed for about 3 seconds when they surprised us with Sakura. In retrospect though, it was a really good idea.

Who knows, maybe they'll find a new way to surprise us this time.

I remember when they announced Sakura it was so unexpected that I was out, and was looking and constantly refreshing jplop from my phone.

I was so confused and shocked, especially at Tsunku for choosing Sakura at that time.

I think a lot of people were disappointed/angry... I know I was initially, but I quickly warmed up to Sakura. Glad I did -- she's great .

Also, maybe we'll get audition footage/results on next week's H!S, so that the members can be announced/introduced at the anniversary event.

September 14, 2012 (in PST time), I woke up in the morning to find out the 6 finalist; was on team Ono and team Oda.
September 15, I wake up in the morning and found out that Sakura won. I was so confused.

I would rather have the footage afterwords. but I won't mind if they do it before. I just don't want to know the results between 4th round footages.

I was annoyed for a little while after she was announced. Not at or because of her, but because I had built up all that anticipation and excitement waiting for the short (but fun and loved by me) process of footage --> announcement, with the little tease of the six finalists building that up even more. Then it was killed in less than two seconds with her surprise reveal. I felt ripped off, despite logic.

Even with my expectations for a different method set extremely low to avoid being as annoyed, I still don't want another Sakura-style reveal because I find it boring and uneventful.

Remember when they announced Sakura and they had the blog picture of her where they applied so much heavy make-up on her face?
I was so shocked just because they announced the audition as "Suppin Utahime" and then they did that.

Left a bad first impression on me for her appearance but I warmed up to to her from training footage and just seeing how she was far ahead of everyone else.

This was my issue with it. I love the in-fighting and drama that happens during the slow build of events.
