Not really big into paying attention the the Kpop fandom, but what happened to f(x)? Their one of my favorites and I heard they stopped promoting entirely and Sulli left?

Sulli got a cold and f(x) only performed without Sulli once before they decided to wipe out their schedule to promote their new single. A week later, SM Entertainment announced that Sulli is taking a temporary hiatus due to mental and physical exhausted from (false) rumors.

f(x) fans are angry because, in their vision, it seemed like they used Sulli as an excuse to stop promoting f(x)'s single/album and promote the new group's single. f(x) also has the back end of SM's list of priorities. We hear about a new f(x) single once a year (only for their mandatory yearly album), while the other groups releases theirs more constantly. I can kinda see their frustration.

Both sides are just ridiculous in my opinion.

Also, "Happiness" is shit. I don't like the song or the MV. I do think that the girls have great potential and would like to see what they release next.

It's shockingly basic for an SM debut, not that I mean it as an insult in particular but I'm used to SM doing these ridiculous overly dramatic songs.

I like the dancing though.

The lachata teaser version is always better than the actual song and music video tbh.

What went down with f(x)
- Rumours of joint promotion with Red Velvet - there's an obvious transition between Red Light to Red Velvet
- Sulli controversy
- Talk that Re Light was SM's last chance for f(x)
- Even before they announced f(x) was stopping promotions, and Sulli was sick they had announced prior that the girl group would debut in August. Debuts are planned months in advance.

Amber posted a picture of her with a girl from the group in support. If Amber isn't angry, f(x) fans shouldn't be either.
Most of them didn't even like Red Light anyway.

Anyways I love Irene she's such a cutie. I love my cute girl groups.

Has f(x) released any songs recently in the vein of their first three singles? I completely stopped checking on MV/single releases from them after that Electric song (which I hate). I think the last time they released something I liked it was 2010.

...Now that I think about it, I stopped checking on a lot of kpop groups that I used to enjoy on and off. Everything seemed to go to crap for me all at once as far as the singles went.

about the Red Velvet MV though, the lyrics match up to the imagery and are meant to be symbolic.

but as someone has pointed out this is Kpop, and they shouldv'e been more considerate since they have a sensitive international audience who aren't as open minded to such ideas for a music video.
SM's excuse is complete bullshit, they're not stock images, but rather intentional by the director.

They really messed up not following this up.

I think it's less to do with other people being 'open minded' and more to do with a director that has little tact.
