^ Some sharing the same sentiments like you.Wow....Ever since Reina left, Riho took the spotlight. Yeah both are very talented, but all the members should shine, Haruka has a great voice, and many others in the group as well, but Tsunku has never used this to the groups advantage. For a long time, I feel like morning musume was becoming "Reina, Riho, and the backup dancers" or "Ai chan, reina, and the others", but then again thats just my opinion. Tsunku has issues with the definition of a group and a solo act with backup girls.
Most groups have one or a few front girls though. You need a small number to keep the general public's attention, like allowing them to recognize the group by just recognizing the front girl(s). A lot of people don't care about AKB48 and sister groups because there are way too many girls, but if you were to devote even a little attention to them you'd still know a few of their front girls.
I think with this lineup you get a lot more balance than before though. I remember in the past when you watch concerts you'd feel like it's just Ai-chan in everything.
I agree even though Riho is the main girl, there is Mizuki,Sakura, Masaki and Ayumi. Even back girls get lines from time to time it seems. This definitely not platinum musume or a Nacchi Furusato
