I used to show the MVs to my more open-minded friends, but ever since the subtitles started, I haven't bothered.

Youtube makes it pretty straightforward to add captions in multiple languages.

True. I honestly don't get why they don't do this.

I know people say it's because HD MVs, but... I feel like with subs or no subs, the same amount of people will download the MVs if they're in high quality.

And most of the people who watch HD MVs on YT are probably foreign fans who don't buy the DVDs anyway because, you know, region encoding. And money. So, honestly, they could have full HD MVs without subs on YT and probably get the same amount of sales that they do now.

^ Well, you'd be wrong about that. If you look at the stats on those videos, the vast majority of the views are still coming from Japan. Don't let all the comments from foreign fans fool you; we're disproportionately more chatty than native fans.

Idk. Imo, I still think it's good as it provides some sort of counter method for them to provide us with 1080p HD PVs whilst still encouraging people to buy singles that come with the DVD and PVs.

So its like if you want the clean product, buy the single. Cos Im pretty sure we started getting subs around the time HD came, so it might not just be a coincidence.

Like I said before they could screw us entirely like pretty much every other Jpop act and give us beautiful, non subtitled, minute and a half versions or block views outside of Japan entirely. I'll take some "breast cleavage" and like it.

As for the PV it needs FIRE! I thought that was a rule for Spanish sounding, Jpop song PVs.

I'm usually not one to complain about subtitles but that "breast cleavage" line and the "forcible action is just right for me" (or however they worded it)... Don't know if I can show this to my friends now. lol

The breast cleavage line also got me. I was like woah!

But this song is so perfect and the PV is great. Everything from the dance to outfits... Oh and Tomoko's voice always stands out to me in a good way. Her voice is so unique and recognizable.

And does anyone else feel like the setting of this PV is the exact same place as Nanchatte Renai?

I feel like the lyrics probably got lost in translation, but damn this song is so good.

As for having subs as closed captions, I'd much prefer it. 1theK does subs like that, and a lot of their stuff is 1080.

the price of literal translations, or is it just as awkward in Japanese? ^^; here to get that same message across, we would have said "take my low cut shirt as a sign" rather than breast cleavage (and actually, even just "cleavage" would have made it marginally better, who the fuck says breast cleavage?).

of course i would love YT captions instead of hard subs, but i can understand their reason for doing it this way. i don't mind too much, i've gotten used to them by now.
