It doesn't mean percentage because we can see numbers more than 100(155,180, etc) for popular singers/groups very often.
But I don't know how they get the number.

I agree that diet is a grower, I hated it at first (well, tbh it was an AWFUL performance, bad singing, dancing, you name it)
But with the MVs playing while I was doing something else, it clicked. It is a "modern-sounding-berryz" for sure. It has all the previous weirdness with updated music.

And while I still find the parts before the chorus incredibly repetitive, I got immune to them, and can actually stand those parts
And the chorus and the start are awesome.

Berryz are definitely beating C-ute for me, since I believe their music has become really boring since Tokai no Hitorigurashi / Aitte Motto Zanshin

I don't think I've liked a Berryz song this much for years

Both songs are songs I like, but I'm not going to go out of my way to listen to them. Berryz has been consistantly strong for a good while now, but none of the singles have really hit that classic status for me.

You are referring to the Oricon Ninki Poll.

This is a poll where Oricon ask a couple of questions 400 people out of a group of 80.000 Oricon suscribers about their interest in new releases. From the answer they calculate this number that doesn't represent any real life number or percentage. Not the sales, not the estimate number of people that will buy the single.

You can only compare it with the numbers they give to other releases, to the competitors in a particular week but also to the earlier releases of an artist. But in the end of the day it's just a simple little poll from which you shouldn't draw too many conclusions.
