Just a reply passing regarding the interview, Saki didn't meant that Berryz should be given a Budokan concert before cute. She meant that it was an impact to her when it was announced that Cute was going to perform at Budokan. As same generation mates as HPkids, she mentioned that Cute was more than a rival to them. They are both buddies, and rivals fighting together. And that's why when it was announced that Cute was going to perform at Budokan, it became a impactful (and regretful) moment for Saki herself, which led to her beginning to ponder, what else more can she do as a captain, to lead the group of 'monkeys' up together to a common goal.

About the 2 ch thread. The title basically quoted " Captain Shimizu Saki says that Morning Musume is not having their second breakthrough. I am only interested in Cute in HaroPuro" but that was nothing she has said. She mentioned that the achievements made by mm/juice juice basically have no much impact on her about how she felt about her own group, though it's nice to have those huge poster on the streets, Berryz is Berryz and they have their own way of walking through the journey.

Talking about that, 2ch thread on Captain Saki are usually harsh in natural and they usually twist her words to make it sound like she's being a bad person. So Yupps.

Now I have a much better understanding of Saki's answer. I had no idea that wota on 2ch twisted saki's words to make that title.
Also out of curiosity, what's 2ch's general standard for H!p member? Are wota nicer to certain members while harsh to some other members?

Well, they may seem to "progress" somewhat slowly compared to other groups (and honestly I do blame the total lack of direction, and H!P's current trend of making all groups sound more or less the same - especially Berryz and C-ute), but Berryz is selling well these days and I'm happy for that. Sadly in order to achieve that they had to go in a direction I mostly don't like, but I'm sure the girls appreciate being more successful than appealing to me So it's all fine. I just get somewhat nostalgic when I listen to their pre-Heroine stuff.

I just want Berryz to keep improving, keep releasing great stuff, and keep being my favorite group until the end.

It's not very obvious whether are they nicer to some members since most of the ppl there are out to criticize. Some members just got more of it :x


Basically, I do feel that the main changing point for Berryz was Otakebi Boy WAO due to the management of the girls, well at least to the backrow trio and maybe Risako.

I think 2011 was a pretty tragic year for Berryz. But in 2012, they were able to somewhat pick themselves back up, with all the CCS promo and CCS hitting 33k, and then WANT! going back to 20k. But 2013 was a fantastic year for Berryz. Even without alot of promo, their single's sales improved each release, and their 33rd single just ended up htting their first 40k. So I am hoping that 2014 will hold the same impact, but maybe 48k-50k by the end of the year? If not, I am fine with whatever they get.

Hopefully, Berryz can start to get posters too.

In 2011 they stopped doing genki-snpirational songs for the anime/videogame Inazuma Eleven, and started doing the pseudo-sexy Ai no Dangan/Ah Yo ga Akeru which turned many people (especially rm88) off from them. The general consensus is that Berryz does sexy very poorly, but energetic/gimmicky songs very well.
